Maytag Satellite

Im SURE someone has already posted about it, but I have to say soomething cos im SO EXCITED. i got back from comet in the UK and they are selling the Maytag Satellite!! £199 so not badly priced too - well I LOVE it it looks SO well made, all stainlless steel etc

Does anyhone know what maytag cleaners are like? Can I rely on this for the next 20 years???

Im not sure how prattical it will be since anything blowing air from the bottom of it in order to hover surley means thers gonna be dust and dirt blown about everywhere?

Input well appreciated before I buy!!!

GBP200 is about USD320 which I think is a bit steep. But I would still buy it at that price.

It is a GORGEOUS little sucker.

Yes Best buy had them on sale thru there website and they sold out in 4 days for 189.00, but I still prefer the Uk maytag over the pearl white We have here but I'm sure I will probably buy both of them

The new Connies are not in the stores yet, and probably not yet in stock. I suspect Best buy has many MANY backorders for this already.

I LOVE the storage positions, I was wondering how well it stored.

Does anyone know how good maytag are at making cleaners? Do you think it will last long / be easy to repair?

the new Constellation

While working at the Hoover Historical Center last week, the new vacuums came in from the company for display. We got the new Windtunnel, Elite Rewind, All Terrain steam vac, and the Connie. My boss asked me if I would take them out of the box and put them together for the display...she really had to twist MY arm!!! In less than a few seconds, I was unboxing and assembling. Well the Connie was my favorite. I swept the entire first floor with it while no one was there. Upon closer examination, I checked out the serial number..."06060001001". This was the first one off of the line! Made in June of '06. These will be in stores if we are all patient. It is a very new item that just has not made it here yet. Believe me I understand! I want to get one of the first ones. I really liked the fact that it is made out of metal and very sturdy. It cleaned the low pile rug and the bare floor very well and all without screeching. It CAN be done! I liked the bare floor tool as well. It seems to me to be a bit of a bargain for the money. Time will tell. I guess they will have an upscale model as well probably the stainless steel version. Lets all be patient!!!

The "new" Constellation sounds to me like a Telios. It is quiet and smooth. The hose is a stretch hose but not like the old "Ultraflex". It is newer and collapses easier...maybe too easily. It is not that very cheap hose that is coarse plastic. I think overall that this machine is a good package for the price.

How well does it float?? I know my Satellite flies in comparison with the originals lol .
Its a bonus it comes with the hard floor tool as thats kinda a must have especially on wood floors!, do the small tools fit either on the back of the handle or the extension rod like the Satellite?- and yup that hose is a PAIN- at least yoour version has a suction control tho!

The Telios is now very much a "Budget" model over here and thats way over priced @ £69 odd- so much for Amazon lol!!!.
The Extension tubes are the wands!

I've got one, have had it for a couple of years now. Very nice, full featured compact canister that works well. I especially like the variable speed motor and the cord rewind.
Much better choice over a Eureka mighty mite!
