Already done...used the Yogitunes technique, thanks Martin!

What ya do is put a screw driver in a wash cloth, insert under the lid near the hinge point and pry up.
There is a compressible plastic ball that acts as a hinge in there (on each side) that will release.[this post was last edited: 3/7/2017-23:30]

I put it back together by putting a ittle petroleum jelly on each...ah, ball...and um, inserting in their respective...ahem...holes.
Then you attach the first end of the lid, easily done.
Then move the other side of the lid just above the remaining ball and carefully tap or nudge it into place.
It s'what I done...first try.
