Maytag DW Fire hazards Thread #10840

Man the list continues to grow for Maytag fire hazards.

We replaced our 9 year old Maytag last week because of it plus we didn't want to wait 6 weeks for the repair person and the replacement parts to arrive. We are suppose to get a $75.00 rebate.

what next?

My goodness Whirlpool bought a public relations nightmare. Wouldnt you like to be at the Benton Harbor board meeting this month? I am thinkin somebody has some "splaining" to do.

well i hope those werent models built by whirlpool they sure as hell dont want to end up like maytag did and what is it with maytag and fires? omg i wouldnt by maytag anything! Hope no one got hurt.

Who's Lonely Now?

So much for the lonely Maytag repair MAN. These days, you need to use the plural and plenty of 'em. That enormous fleet must be anything but lonely.

Just such a sad and undignified treatment of the brand that was synonymous with indestructable dependability. How the demise of the true Maytag could be considered progress or a positive in any way (for anything but a CEO-serving corporate bottom line) is beyond me.

You'll see the recall details of the Maytag MAH9700 and MAH8700. Also they discuss the recall of the Samsung WF306 and WF316. Certain serials affected. You can also revisit the older Maytag recall of the MAH9700.
I believe the affected washers were made by Samsung. Poor Whirlpool bought the risk when they bought Maytag. Oh well, that's the way the mop flops....

The Maytag MAH9700 & 8700 were built by Samsung. This was part of the Maytag Neptune series. The Neptune series are no longer being by Maytag or Whirlpool.

The Newton 'tunes are still in production to about the end of the year. The Korean 'tunes are thankfully defunct, except for the smaller-but-not-smallest MAH6700AWW (the stackable version), and the smallest mah2400aww. I'd imagine these will be going away sometime soon as well.
