Maytag Washer Sud Saver, Save/Drain stopped working

My parents have the Maytag washer model A512S. I believe the save and drain stopped working.

The water came out the top pipe today, Save was pressed down for some reason, even though it shouldn't be as I believe drain is for the bottom pipe(which has the drain hose attached).

I tried both Save and Drain buttons and it still comes out the top pipe.

What are my options here?

Should I try to find a y joint somewhere that can input both pipes and 1 output?

Two way Sudsaver Valve failure

If you want to use the SS feature you need a replacement valve, If you don't care about the SS just remove the valve and connect the hose from the pump to one of the drain hoses with a hose connector from a hardware store.

1) Where does one remove the valve? Sorry not sure what the valve is or looks like.

the hose connecting the pump to two-way valve....pull that off....

get a connector from a hardware store...and some hose clamps as well....

now, the hose from the pump, and the hose leading to your drain....connect them two together....

valve now by-passed....remove it and tape the wires if you want to....or just leave it there.....

problem solved....

some people may choose to unplug the machine while doing this....I dont, but they do!
