How do you get rid of this feature? I know an old lady who has one and she said that the little petal to release the Wringer rollers from being locked is all cracked open. She hates having to worry about pressing it too.

The "dead man" safety switch can be overcome by rolling the machine onto it so that one of the washer's legs stands on the switch. The idea behind this safety feature is that one is to stand on the pedal when using the wringer and if your move off of the pedal the wringer pops open...a good safety feature in an emergency and not all that inconvenient unless you are constantly moving around the washer as you wring clothes.

Wringer switch

The pressure switch is located on the wringer leg,lft corner, if you remove the hose you will find a small nipple that is exposed, a 3/8 (I think) bolt screws into shaft pressing against nipple thus replacing need for pressure switch
