Maytag wringer washer . . . free to good home.

This Maytag wringer washer works just fine.  It has a pump that produces a very strong stream of water emptying the tub quickly.

Do you see how wide that tub is? That is the size tub that is needed to produce the wonderful washing action with that agitator. This is why you did not get the same washing action in the narrow tub of the automatic; the agitator was not made for the narrow tub of the automatic. Maytag took care of that with the safety lid switch.

Yes, but Maytag apparently did not want you to see anything in the automatics while running unless those of us bypassed that. I have the same Maytag wringer with a messed up tranny that I am not going to fix and will also give it to a good home. Mine has the same lettering but a black agitator and red wringer bar.
