Well, My WU600 is doing well, but still do not have a manual and there is still an issue with the soap dispenser. When I attempt to close it it most often does not catch. Removing the front panel shows that it need to go just a hair further to allow the metal tab to grab the disc and hold it. Both places I contacted listed the part, but upon ordering I was told the manufacturer no longer carries the part.

But I may not need to be too concerned. Does anyone here know what wash and rinse cycles it goes through for each of the different settings?

I know Sani-wash does an longer wash and heats the water, and rinse hold and dish warmer are self explanatory, but I'd like to know the wash cycle specifics of Sani-wash , Pots & Pans, Regular and Crystal and Plastics. It looks like Pots & Pans does not use the second soap container as it does not open it, but it does a fine job on the dishes all the same.

I know I can pop off the lower front panel and watch it go through the different operations, but I'm hoping for an 'official' description of what it should be doing.

Thanks,
waterstone

Now for the good part... the Dispenser!

Here's some info on the detergent dispenser. ALSO, the a revised assy is still available! P/N 901839 detergent assy and ballbarks for around $67 thru our distributor.

Wow - now that's waht I call service!

Thank you! Exactly what I needed. I must have the revised cycle because pots & pans has the heated dry cycle. I'll have to order the soap dispenser when the budget allows. Right now all my disposable income goes into the gas tank.

Any idea where I can get a full copy of the manual? I'd like to keep this running for a long time.

Thanks again. This site is great!

Service with a smile...

I'll look around for a owner's manual but am not overly optimistic. You probably can get that cup assy for lots cheaper on line. Also, that soapcup is used on the majority of the Maytag dishwashers from the mid 80's back. If you found a donor with a working round dispenser, it'd probably work fine.

Didn't the WU900/WU901 version of this WU600 have a much longer main wash period when Pots & Pans was selected? IIRC, back in like 1983 or 1984, I though I was gonna get to rerplace my D&M aweful Kenmore. I brough home a brochure with cycle charts and extended main wash was mentioned for either P'n'P or SaniScrub on this all-button model. 8.75 minutes was still about "average" at the time for most dishwashers. But still, 8.75 minutes seems pretty pathetic for a P'n'P cycle. PotScrubbers had around 30 to 40 minutes during main wash for PotScrubber cycle at that time.
