MEGAPEARLS

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Lipase was the big breakthrough in the ultra concentrated powder detergents marketed here in the late 1980s, I think. Previous enzyme detergents like Fresh Start had protease for protein stains, but the lipase brought new power for removing greasy soil without a lot of pretreating. The protease did nothing for greasy soil or stains.

I remember the very first generation of all Henkel Megaperls had serious problems to dissolve properly in short cycles along with cool temperatures.
The second generation had "softer" perls and dissolved well, but therefore it had a tendency to clog up soap dispensers. Those problems seem to be history, now.
Are there any Mexican Megaperls, or is it just powder, there ?

No Mexican MegaPerls...

C-P did indeed make Viva until they sold their Mexican detergent division off to Henkel. (C-P still makes Suavitel.)

If you think the Henkel Viva is good, you should have tried the C-P Viva. The fragrance was absolutely heavenly and it was an extremely powerful detergent.

What's the advantage of megapearls ?

What's the big deal with megapearls anyway ?

Is it not purely a marketing thing?

I not sure it's necessarily the "Megaperls" that are so special, but the Persil brand overall. The powder is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING in terms of cleaning and whitening, and the scent is AWESOME!!! The Megaperls variant is a more concentrated format so you can use less for great results. Persil also has a Megaperls Color version without bleach for colors, but not a powder version.

I don't care what they call it - if they made the exact same thing here in the US that was priced much better than the imported stuff, I would certainly buy it and be a loyal Henkel customer for life!

Megaperls

Was the answer to not only making a powder ultra concentrated, but dealing with the "dust", that powdered detergents tend to produce. This dust is not only untidy, but can cause problems if the product gets into eyes/mouth or on skin.
