In looking at the membership roster, there are alot of duplicates and triplicates. Also people who joined to ask a question and have never returned since. Perhaps we should have to periodically "renew". Hope that does not get me in trouble.

I had to rejoin because my prior name (exploder321) died and has not worked scince it stopped working. Exploder321 could be dealeted for all i care.. LoL

Same here....came on as oxydolfan, forgot my password, reinvented myself as oxydolfan1....

I don't post on vacuumland but do read the posts occasionally...one new procedure they've developed as a result of problems is that you have to submit your full name, the webmaster checks it off and then you can post....I think that would be a good idea, to avoid members posting under more than one handle...I'd also feel more comfortable with at least that added level of security.

In addition, I believe that underage members (18 and under) should be somehow indicated....sometimes, discussions tend to be, well, shall we say, inappropriate for underaged members, and we should know what the participant's status is.

As fresh as a summer's eve.

Ya know....

I once nicely asked for a first name and a gender and an approximate age to be able to judge appropriate responses to a poster's concerns. And to get a feel for them.

Had my head handed to me. JEEE-ZUS though it was a bad idea for her to be so "open" while she tore me (or the Toggle persona, actually) to shreds.

Similarly I kinda like a general geographic area to be able to keep *COUGH* straight who is who.

Glitches

Somehow I cannot log-in with my original membership name. After I added the "1" on and created a new membership, I was allowed back. Very strange!

Can anyone help?

Would like to

Just go back to my original username....and delete the two new names.

Will figure this one out soon.

Thanks,

Gary

I had the same problem last week.

Thank you.

I just emailed Robert. I thought it was very strange that last nite, I could not log-in. When I tried this morning, the same thing happened.
When this all gets cleared, I will delete the two false names and hopefully, return to my original.
Strange thing happens if I log out. I CANNOT log back in without creating a new name.

Things that make you go....

Hmmmmmmm

My log-in worked at the Vacuumland site first try. But here at AW, it will not accept my original log-in and password.

Have I entered the 'twilight zone'????

Ralph--

Go to "View Member Profiles."

That is on the Discuss-O-Mat page, just below the three sections.

The link to edit your own profile should be at the very top of that page.
