I used to spend(waste) hours in the library looking through Sweets Architectural supplies catalogues. I'd been looking for a source for some really old ones so I could find some old appliance brochures. Haven't had any luck yet, but somebody put a couple of brochure pages ripped out of a Sweets 1965 edition. One's for Maytag commercial and residential laundry, and the other's a Hotpoint gallery brochures that I'll scan and post later. Here's our 1965 Dad guy all over again:

Very nice. Glad to see the condensor dryer mentioned. With they'd put windowed dryer door from the commercial dryer on their home versions. Kinda "Hamilton"esque.

It probably did not have the "bell". In a laundromat setting, the bell would be meaningless with multiple bells going off, and one needed to see if the wash was done on the particular dryer you paid for. I will bet the dash did not light up either, nor was it electronic dry control, but only borrowed the control panel.

Still, wouldn't you like to get your hands on one of those doors?

Ohhhhhh, lookie there, more Maytag porn to archive to the hard drive (and rotate for wallpaper backgrounds). MANY thanks!!

Wonderful Maytags

Thanks for the pictures, love those Maytags. There is Maytag dealer that I go by once in a while that has a wringer washer in the window that I would like to call and see if it's for sale, or just a display model. One of these days I will try and remember to call.
