What does everyone think of method laundry liquid detergent? In my personally oppinion it may be 8x concentrated but its cleaning ability is absolute rubbish. Same as Persil Small and Mighty that is absolute rubbish too. Both detergents failed to remove mud and grass stains at 60oc which is quite poor considering how expensive these products are. I know they say you get what you pay for but am beginning to think you may as well use supermarket own brands as they do a good enough job for half the price and are not tested on animals.

I love the idea of Method but I did find it quite disappointing. I am suprised you didn't get good results with Persil S&Mighty though. I have always found it cleans well.

Liberatordeluxe,

Liquids will not perform well on mud or grass stains. You need a bio `green box' powder for these stains.

This does not mean liquids like Persil S+M are rubbish, it just means they are not good at that particular stain. When used on certain other stains, bio liquids are invaluable - especially as a pretreater.

For us picky types, one product does not fit all.

Having said that in general, powders outperform liquids on stains.

Good liquid detergents

are generally better on grease/fat/oil stains.

I've been happy with Method's other products....hand dishwashing liquid, their hand soap, and their spray cleaner. Haven't tried the laundry detergent.

Maytagbear,

I love Method cleaning products but they are VERY expensive in the UK. The pink grapefruit clearer smells lovely. I liked the pump and the smell of Method detergent but it's cleaning is not up to much.

I like method for my office shirts. One pump is enough and they come clean on Quick Wash 30C. Method didn't have enzymes in it in the beginning. The bottle I have does, though. I wouldn't use it on heavy soil and it has brighteners so it's really good for my shirts but don't know what else I might use it on. Maybe my white fitted sheets...

Method

I just realised method had optical brighteners in so best i keep that for white sheets as i don't want my special clothes fading.

Regarding small and mighty yes probably right not good on mud stains but i do not use powders or tablets as i do not believe they are value for money. Most washing powders are full of Sodium Sulfate, a useless filler that serves no purpose. I have some Ecover bleach that i shall add to tough stains and it is 100% active Sodium Percarbonate and i find it gets rid of mud as just done a wash.

I never use 35ml of small and mighty as id be forever rinsing with my water softner and as its more concentrated i use enough just so i see enough suds. I think they reccommend too much so you buy more sooner!

And i use affresh once a month so never get mould, or gunge from using liquids only.

I do like Method products but like PaulC says they are expensive in the UK but least they are not animal tested!!!
