I use WD40 or any spray lubricant with silicone or teflon since I'm able to use the small tube and insert enough oil into the port to do some good.</blockquote>I was told by the Whirlpool dealer where I worked that WD40 is NOT suitable for use as a "permanent" lubricant in bearings, motors, gears, etc. It's a solvent that washes lubricants away then evaporates. OK for getting rusted/frozen moving parts moving again, but then a good quality oil or grease should be applied to keep them that way.
