Micro-fiber Cloths-Pros/Cons

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

You can get the fluffy yellow automotive microfiber towels at Costco. That's where I got the waffle-weave kitchen towels also. I tried the kitchen towels and they're not anywhere near as "clingy" as the fluffy terry towels, so they are nicer to the touch. Not sure if they're any better than cotton towels, but they do have nice colors, texture, etc.

better

I find there is a fairly steep cut-off point after which microfaser (as well call them over here) load up too quickly to be off any use. There, paper towels (and yes, my German friends just scream bloody H- about my using them) work best. I am thinking about the great globs of grease in a transmission or when you have to wipe up an entire cup of coffee.
But when the dirt is more that horrid layer of grease of everything you get after someone has fried open-pan in your kitchen (i-gitt!) then microfaser picks up better and faster with less detergent.
They also wash out much more easily, a point which is very much in their favour.
Whether they actually lower the bug count, hmmm. Tom, if that is an issue for you, than maybe you should be thinking more in terms of wood (tanic acid) then polyurethane and formica? What do hospitals and commercial kitchens use? I bet that would tell us more useful than any amount of speculation. Got to be some nurses and cooks on a site like this. Or at least florists.
(ducks and runs)
I realised years ago, I could have cats and dogs or a sparkling clean house.
Not both.
