I've been collecting vintage dinnerware for many years. For spring, I swapped out some of the exising sets that I had in the cupboards. I'd be interested in seeing what dinnerware other members use.

I'm excited about the set below. It's a very hard to find Red Wing pattern circa 1952 - 1955. I lucked out by finding it on craigslist (in rural Wisconsin). Fortunately, my sister lives 40 miles away and she was able to pick it up for me.

Another Red Wing set

This is the set that I put away to make room for the new set- Collonnes from 1957. If any members ever see this pattern in their travels, let me know. It's taken me 15+ years to put this set together (and I live 40 miles from where it was made) and 90% of the pieces came from outside of Minnesota.

here is a pic of the pattern on my favorite set of china, it is the Silver Pine pattern by Kent China and was purchased by my grandmother somewhere between 1952 and 1955 while she was working in the RCA plant.
This set I use through the fall and winter. I also have a set of Haviland China in the Blue Garland pattern, and Corelle in the Butterfly Gold pattern for every day use.

And last but not least, my favorite! I got the original service for 8 of this Cunningham and Pickett china in their "Norway Rose" pattern from my wife's uncle. After he lost his drivers license last summer I took him to his dr. appts. and grocery shopping. He gave me this as a thank you. A couple of weeks later, my wife picked up another service for 8 at an estate sale for $125. This set means even more to me now that Uncle Edmund is in a nursing home, and his house mysteriously burned down while we were cleaning it out this winter. Uncle Edmund received this set piece by piece as premiums from the grocry store.

Polkanut...

What a small world. The pink set of dishes in my first post came from an estate sale/garage sale in Wausau, WI. My sister, who could pick them up, lives in Antigo.

Gary,

That's almost spooky. My Uncle Gerald hauled the mail between Wausau and Antigo for 45yrs. until he retired in 2007.

Wow Gary, Just beautiful. I love the Collonnes set. I have never seen any Red Wing Dinnerware down here in Florida at the sales but I will for sure be on the constant lookout!!

I have a six place setting set of this pattern, Noritake Clinton, from the mid-1950s. Noritake made another Clinton pattern in the 1970s that isn't even close to this.

I have a formal set of china too: Hutschenreuther "Revere"

This pattern was made from 1958 to 1988. The trim is platinum. This style was also available with gold trim ("Brighton")and with no trim ("Sylvia").

not exactly mid-century...

On the left, I found this Lenox "Percussion" on Craigslist, it was just too 70's to pass up. It's nearly indestructible stoneware so I'll probably have to smash it with a car when I get tired of it!

The Woods & Sons "Indian Tree" was posted in a dishwasher photo in the Friday BobLoad thread a while back by Eddie (topload55) and they haunted me until I started a set! The colors and Oriental patterns are just stunning in person.

Great thread! Lovely sets, guys. One of my favorite Red Wing sets is the Harvest Wheat pattern. I started this collection a few years ago after finding a fairly large chunk of it at the local St. Vincent De Paul. Mostly complete, but missing a few heres and theres. Unfortunately I keep it stuffed in the chemical cabinet for now until the kitchen is done.
