Miele Detergent vs Cascade
@labboy, I got my G7166 around the same time as you. Fantastic machine, easily the best made dishwasher I've personally used. Cleans very well. Racks are good, though the older ones from my parents' G2670 do fit american dishware better.
I have had one recurring issue and I'm quite certain it is because of the Miele detergent. I have a variety of silicon cooking utensils from Sur La Table (and have had then for 8+ years at this point), and they have a fairly uniform greasy coating after coming out of the Miele. Completely odorless and wipes off with a towel, and increasing the rinse aid dosage helped.
This coating was added from the dishwasher, it was not part of the soil that was on them when they went in. They've been through 2 other dishwashers regularly both using various Cascade products, and never experienced this before otherwise.
Have you experienced anything similarly weird using the Miele detergent?
I'm on my last of the free powerdisks and I'll be refilling them with Cascade powder once I do. They cost too much to justify repurchasing them, and the detergent doesn't seem to be anaything amazing.
