Miele Laundry Detergents VS Persil

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Alex I am going on the producers information that is printed on the side of the box that I ordered from Miele USA.

My boxes of Miele DW tabs say they were produced by Claro although the newer phosphate free ones may not be because I heard that you can no longer break them apart.

Detergent for white, colors, dedicates, and the FS says produced by Kreussler.

Tom yes. The FS was shipped yesterday and it arrived this morning. It is 67 ounces for $16.95. My previous bottle was 50 ounces but I don't remember the price.
It smells the same and may be a bit thinner but it wasn't very thick to begin with until winter temperatures. Interesting that the bottle shows pictures of folded towels on it because my towels say not to use fabric softener.

Here is a picture. The cap is not very big and the bottle has a grip handle on the back.

All fabric softeners go thick

After a certain time, this has nothing to do with the outside temperature...

I was expecting it to remain the same consistency but after 8 months it thickened into big lump and no amount of adding hot water and shaking resolved the problem. Now maybe running it through a blender or food processor might have helped but I didn't want to have fabric softener in my food processors.

It was stored at the same temp(62F) in the laundry as other softeners and they maintained their consistency over this same period, so I think they had a problem.

Jerrod, I went to the Amazon site and purchasing this thru GoVacuum for $18.00 resulted in free shipping. I was not wanting to pry to see if you had to pay for shipping, but for a dollar more, this place offered it. Because I was totally out, I bought some Snuggle in the blue bottle with the Blue Sparkle fragrance, which I don't like as much as Mountain Spring Downy. I hope this Miele stuff smells better or just smells less.

Tom I had to pay for shipping but surprisingly I can't tell you how much.

Probably not more than $4 because I could drive to Princeton and pick the stuff up in less than 2 hours. When I ordered from the Miele web site it shows you the detail and you can print it then. I didn't because I thought it would be in an email they sent confirming the order. Well It isn't. The confirmation email says they received your order and gives you the order number. The shipping notice email says your order is shipped. No price detail in either.

When the order arrives it lists the items with no price detail at all.

So if you don't print it online when you order - you're done. No pricing information after that....unless I missed something....anyway I can tell you how much it costs by going to the web site, but I can't see the info from any documentation they deliver by email or shipping.

Sometimes I don't know what they, or their IT department are thinking. Just weird.

The scent will be much less than snuggle or any other FS. There is a faint scent but you have to work hard to figure out what it is..which is kinda why I like it.

The Miele Carecollection softener is here

I ordered this thru Amazon on Sunday, 3/3 and it arrived Wednesday, 3/6. I paid $18 and that included FREE shipping from a place out in Chantilly VA called GoVacuum. The softener has a very nice, mild fragrance, sort of a sophisticated, powdery scent, not like something you would use to deodorize swine and not overpowering like a perfume in the 60s called Jungle Gardenia where one girl wearing it could "perfume" a whole high school hallway.

At the bottom of the invoice, it says that the order was picked by Gabe, packed by Manuel and shipped by Tim.

Miele softener

Well, it has to be mixed somehow before it goes into the dispenser because it does not all dispense. Except where the three water sprays are, it sticks to the sides and corners of the compartment. Maybe if I add some water to the dispenser before adding the softener, it will dispense better. What do you do, Jerrod?

Tom Glad to hear your softener arrived. Yesterday I wore one of the shirts I washed in the FS last week. You can still smell the fragrance and it is kind of like "oh what's that nice smell"

Does your bottle look like the one I posted in the picture above. If not they shipped you the older version of the softener so you might want to keep it in a hot area of your house.

Ok what I do with ALL FS is to measure the amount with the cap, pour it into the dispenser, fill the remaining space with water up to the max fill line, and then..... I take my index finger and mix it around. I know some might find this gross, but hey I've been doing this for years with all softeners and washers, and it hasn't hurt me yet, and no I don't lick my finger afterwards.:)

I also use different softeners for different loads. I alternate between Miele, Purex sweet lavender and cotton or aloe with almond milk, Downy Honey flower, Comfort olive blossom with cotton extract, Suavitel island splash, and La bouquetiere essence of jasmine and roses, so between loads if I change softeners I remove the dispensing system and rinse the compartment out with hot water.

I like that they recognize the people who worked on your order

The fragrance is very mild and light. I usually notice it when I first handle the garment to put it on, but after that I don't smell it. I kind of like this since I am slightly offended when I stand next to someone especially at the gym, store, or on mass transit and I smell the scent in their clothes.

So I guess the scent level is OK for me.
