Miele Softener draining too early!

Hi guys! Firstly hope you are all well!
Got a friend asking for help...their W3922 is on the brink of draining Softener on the fill... regardless of what cycle..
Only just started happening a month ago..
Starts cycle with it empty and about 1/4 cup FS after fill it is over max line.... draining if you open it to fast!!
Definitely not making it to Softener rinse...
Tried water pressure high, normal, low to no avail...
All jets are clean...
Drawer and syphon is clean so that isnt the issue!!
I used a torch to look at it when filling with the panel off and no water is escaping
All abit odd...Only you guys would know!!

Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated

If it is a cold fill only machine, I've had a similar problem with my Zanussi years ago that might be relevant.

It has only two solenoid valves to fill the three draw compartments. The valves feed water to two crossing jets at the very back of the detergent compartment, directing water into one of three channels above the draw, which shower water into each section.

One of the crossing jets was part blocked by black mould, diverting it so some of the water went in the wrong channel, slowly filling the softener section.

This machine does have a motorised water diverter from what I can gather from the parts diagram.

I should have guessed a Miele would be more complicated
