Hi Y'all.

I looked for this here a bit, as well as the looked at the manual, and I'm trying to find out what the "light" setting in the degree of soiling menu actually does?

I'm guessing it dials back the amount of soap ML to something like half?

Thanks!

In my experience, it seems that the light soil setting will reduce the amount of Phase 1 detergent and Phase 2 hydrogen peroxide that gets dispensed, but I don’t know that it is reduced by half. All I know is that there is less of it. I like to use light soil when washing towels since they tend to hold onto detergent. The setting will also reduce the cycle time, but the amount of reduction depends on the cycle used.

If you select heavy soil more detergent and hydrogen peroxide will be dispensed and the cycle time will increase. I notice that if I select heavy soil while using the Extra white cycle the tumbling speed and pattern are more aggressive so perhaps selecting heavy soil also changes the type of tumbling done in each cycle.

If you select the single wash option much less detergent gets dispensed anyway, but using light soil will reduce that amount and perhaps the cycle time too.

Rinsing is also supposedly affected - more detergent needs more rinsing, thus more or less water is used respectively.

I don't think it's quite half. Germany requires you to list dosing for different soil levels on detergents and for same water hardness, amount for light vs normal soil is about 2/3s.
