Miele W3033 Insides

As you all probably recall I got my new Miele W3033 in January, and absolutely love it. I've got over 300 hours on it so far Anyway, about a month ago the LED drum light started to not work all the time. Not sure what to expect, I contacted Miele and explained that I'm very capable of such a simple repair, so they agreed to send me the LED drum light assembly. While it was in route, I took the top, front and sides off to do a bit of inspection to see what the problem was. Come to find out it was not the LED drum light assembly, rather the wiring harness connection had a finicky connector where they were pressed together. When the machine was on, a jiggle of the wiring harness connector was clearly the source of the intermittant short. I contacted Miele again and said that I found the problem was actually the wiring harness, and they shipped that out to me. I spent about 2 hours carefully disassembling the machine which was very easy, replaced the harness, new LED light, photographed the insides and put her back together. She's been running perfect ever since. Here are some pics!

Problem with LED Light

Bad press fit connection - happens, can't get too upset. Nothing is perfect in life It's fixed now!

Transformer

Interestingly, a lot of the components like the water valves, water control motor, main control board all run off 220. I'm not sure what parts run off 120 though, other than the heater. I'd guess this would be called a step-up transformer Makes sense - that way Miele doesn't have to manufacture special 120V valves, boards etc. Just throw a transformer in.

Imbalance Sensor (I think). This gizmo is mounted to the drum cradle, so if the drum is out of balance too much, it causes something inside to shake and create pressure fluctuations that route up to the pressure sensor on the main board, telling her to rebalance. (From what I could understand from studying the machine and reading the service manual).

1060 Watt Heater Assembly - 159F / 70C Max, and it actually reaches target temps, unlike LG's Thermistor is in the middle with the brown wires.
