Just spent a wonderful day with Paul, where on parting I mentioned what the Z series Zannis and 95 series model Hotpoints numbers meant for each machine. Im on about the "Silent Salesman" prompts. Explained about the 9 being 9ITCL codes and cycles but cant remember the rest. Can you post your knowledge please? Much appreciated, it would help myself and Paul prepare 95 series spread sheets and model variances. Cheers, your one in a million! Rob

Codes..

That made me laugh, they where HLCC (Home Laundry Consultative Council) codes when I was selling...LOL Let me remember:

Zanussi 918
9 = 9lb washload
1 = 1 programme option
8 - 800 spin speed

Zanussi 929
9 = Washload
2 - 2 options
9 = 1000 spin speed (970rpm)

The other clue was M cabinets
M1 = Modular 1 - full straight cabinet
M2 - Modular 2 - kick plinth at bottom covering sump,
M3 - built in, decor panel door
M4 - fully integrated

Whilst it was a good way of "Silent Selling" they changed the system as much as the codes, and as the models changed frequently you still needed to know your stuff...which of course a good salesman always did!!!

Cheers, I forget which way round it is, with International Textile Care Labels and HLCC. guessing there is a difference between the 2 then? Never pay much attention to washlabels as a rule. Just quick glance to see my 1-9 wash number or temp and tub and thats it. I did wonder if they changed, can you remember the Hotpoint ones at all?

Looks like I am going to a place that I forbade myself to go - namely into the realm of detailing the 4 digit 95 and 93 series hotpoint washers and dryers.

Truth be told I have already delved into the world of late Logics and the Ecologics from Hoover - the information was there and I couldn't help myself.

Soooo...any info on model numbers, images and details of the 4 digit 95 and 93 Hotpoints AND the Logics will be greatfully received.

I am NOT doing New Waves - no no no no no - I must resist.

p.p.s the machine below is the Hotpoint 9531 Electronic 1000 De Luxe variable. This was the very first type of machine that I actually owned, with my other housemates, when we lived out in 2nd year at uni. Didn't last long and was replaced by that hellishly unbalanced Classica.

Now Paul, you know you are just going to have to do it...Its Your Destiny!!!!!Hadnt realised you where off Fridays, would have met up with guys, would have been much better than what I had to do!!!

Hotpoint 9531
9 = 9lb load
5 = 5 options
3 = giving me a headache
1 = 1000 spin

I suppose you all had turns sliding the spin control for effect?? or where they all banned from using it but you!!!

not off on Fridays usually - having to burn some annual leave days before the end of the year. use them or loose them syndrome!

the new new (I meant to type that twice) gen are even more daunting than the Liberators and Liberatoresques, simply because there were so many of them.

I already have quite a few listed - when knocked into shape, I will post a screen grab.

I couldnt remember for the hell of me. No more Guiness next time! Paul, im more than happy to work out the 95 series spread so no worries to do it. Ahh oldschool hotpoints. I love them. Especially spinslider models!!!

One of my fav models Ever....is the 9545! Anyone interpret that model number?

A close family friend had one, i spent ages watching that, as my own 9534!

it pains me to say it but that 9531 wont be with us any more. the ebay seller was advertising it as being broken for spares about a year ago now.

a real shame - I agree with your sentiments Daniel - a very smart looking machine.
