Would this be the correct mini basket for a 1978 filter flo large capacity with ramped agitator and large filter pan? Thank you!

I would have to pull mine out to measure exact....but if I am correct, reg capacity is 14 inches tall, and ExLarge is 16 inches tall, don't quote me on that yet....
but the one you have pictured uses the small filter pan......

There's a difference in height of Mini Basket between the Large and Extra Large capacity machines. From what I experience with mine the difference isn't much though. I have a 78 Extra Large capacity. It was missing the basket when I got it. I found a basket for a large capacity. It works without problem but the top of the basket is about 1/4" - 1/2" short from the bottom of the filter pan sitting on it.

My filter pan is the large one in the middle sitting out of the basket. I think from looking the filter pan the seller has for the mini basket is the smaller one. So it probably would't work would it?

Not with the large filter pan you already have
But the smaller and larger filter pans are interchangeable. So as long as the basket is correct height for your machine the filter pan with it would work in your machine.
And with looking at Martin's picture Im curious now as to just which one I have. I will give a measure and post (be good Lawrence). It will be interesting if it turns out to be the Extra large capacity basket because of the situation with it not contacting the filter pan like it should.

I also have an 83 FF without mini basket option. It has the larger filter pan. The diameter and the ridges on the top of the agitator that the pan meshes with are same on both machines meaning filter pans will interchange.
I find the smaller pan easier to take off and put in place. The larger one has to be tipped up to do so. Was the basket pictured on left without the top edge that uses the large pan the initial design? I remember our 66 GE having the turquoise pan. Would that basket have been the straight sided design?

the very first posting pic....and the picture I posted(the middle and right) use the SMALL filter pan......
for a 60's machine, most should have had a ramped agitator......
but later in the 60's into the 70's, a 3 straight vane was introduced as well....it was mostly about capacity, 14lb machine was normally a ramped(black), yet the same basket with a straight vane(blue) now became a 16 pound machine......it was a matter of the shape from the ramped coned shape that took up more capacity...
filter pans were usually white or blue......I lucked out getting a few dispensers that hold up to a cup of softener......although the Jet-Swirl units were unique as dispensing when the filter flo started, less chance of staining....
some of the larger filter pans also came with a deeper section in the middle to hold softener after the spin stopped, then added as agitation started.....
I believe the bigger basket was all about capacity, and the introduction of the Mini-Quick cycle......then turned SpotScrubber, only difference of those baskets was no holes in the bottom....but would still work on either machine....
without that top section, the filter pan kept the clothes inside during spin, the other ones could be used without the pan....

The machine shown in the picture is the largest capacity machine? The panel on my 78 denotes "Extra Large Capacity". I measured the basket I have. It's 9 7/8" tall. Which I assumed is for a standard capacity machine as it doesn't touch the filter pan in my machine. It misses touching the pan by 5/8". [this post was last edited: 8/23/2016-20:13]

for the largest capacity.....it should be 11 1/2 inches tall....
it can be confusing on these machines as they once had standard and large capacity.....then changed the names to Large and ExLarge.....so depending on your machines year, standard and large would be the same size....and as well, Large would be ExLarge....

Calling all GE mini-basket owners - Info needed please
Greetings, Need some info from those who have a GE mini-basket. Please give the height, without the lint pan in place, and state if its for a standard or large capacity machine. Im guessing the diameter would be the same on either? If not please give that also. Trying to determine the correct...

Had forgotten all about my thread from two years ago. Has a lot of good info concerning the baskets. As you can see my avatar is actually the sellers pic from her ad. That's the basket I measured tonight so she was off when she measured it.
