Missouri Pastor Gets Ten Years on Molestation Charges

Kansas City’s Fox affiliate reports:

A former pastor from Independence was sentenced to 10 years on Monday for child molestation and sodomy charges between 2014 and 2015. According to Jackson County court records, 74-year-old Virgil Marsh was found guilty of one count of first-degree child molestation for an incident on Jan. 2, 2014, and one count of second-degree statutory sodomy for an incident on June 1, 2015.

The victim was reportedly under the age of 14 at the time of the offense and said she would stay over at Marsh’s house, who was a pastor at her church. Another victim also came forward and told detectives that Marsh had inappropriately touched her several times when she was between the ages of 8 and 9. According to detectives, Marsh claimed he is no longer the man who had committed those crimes and has asked forgiveness from God.
