Mixer Collecting Article in NYT

Saw this today while scanning the headlines, an interesting article about electric mixer collecting profiling a (late) mixer collector and her husband.

Seems like folks that collect washers,dryers, vacuum cleaners,and such have a place for machines like radios,fans,and MIXERS,blenders,or other food processing equipment.I have several Mixmaster that I obtained from Kelly-one I use all of the time!My Kenwood Viking gathers dust right now-"Major" model-I describe that thing as a "roto tiller in a bowel"You put it in the bowel-the major will mix it-could this be a start from Blendtecs "wiil it blend?" to "Will it mix?"I use the Viking when I am making my Ginger cookies.

WACEM

I am so sorry to hear about the death of Nancy Platnick, the founder and moderator of WACEM (We Actually Collect Electric Mixers) which is a yahoo group. I am a member of that group although I have let it lapse as I tend to have more fun over here. So it was not just the dear and much missed Kelly that we have lost, for Nancy had extensive knowledge of mixers and a large collection too. Rather like Robert has to do here sometimes she moderated WACEM with a firm hand, but as a result kept the forum busy and active.

How sad indeed - I had heard of WACEM but never jumped in the way I did with automaticwasher.org...
