I had to do a double take......its a cooktop and oven on top, and dishwasher built underneath.....have not seen one of these in a long time....

These are incredibly tall appliances and when the D&M dishwashers in them go, you have to replace them with a dishwasher with a porcelain or stainless steel tank because if a plastic tub machine is put in as a replacement, the top of the tank melts when you use the cooktop. These were seen in lots of rehabs in DC because they were space savers. The ovens were probably the largest over the cooktop ovens offered.
It says in the ad the dishwasher isn't there. So the pictures must be of another one or did I read something wrong.
I saw that too Pete.....pics showing a dishwasher, but none included with the sale....
I understand the metal tub units used for this setup.....but will a regular dishwasher fit, or one of those with a shorter internal tub?....

And they said it's from 1970, but to me looks more late 80s or early 90s.
They were like builders specials around here, put into a lot of new build subdivisions of the early 70's.. Never saw them for sale at a store that I can recollect.

Strange magic.. I'm in our Restore today an there's a Modern Maid 4 coil cooktop for sale.. in very nice condition I might add. .. I only say strange because I never see Modern Maid anything really until someone makes a post about them.

They were given away as prizes on a Canadian TV game show - 'Definition' or 'The Mad Dash' - damned if I can remember which.
I only ever saw one at a distance in the late 80s - the original dishwasher struck me as odd since it had round pushbuttons. I seem to remember the Simplicity-branded dishwasher here also had round pushbuttons, too. As to who made either, I can only guess they were D&M's....
