Hi guys
we have just had a new laundromat open up near us called 'Clean n Dry'.
In there they have installed a few maytag toploaders and some of these Speed Queen front loaders, the first thing to hit me was the weird door, very unique lol. They are so quiet as well, almost no motor noise except when spinning. The final spin is FAST, it started going quite fast and i thought that was the top, but at 4 mins left it zooomed up to what must be 1000-1300 rpms.

They also have an 8kg Primus installed but its old so i dunno what its doing there, am going back tomorrow so will take pics.
Only 4 bucks to use the front loaders, cheap!

Can anyone offer any more info on these speed queen f/ls, they are so cool!

Matt

That door is 2 designs ago. After this, the door had pieces on the right and left side, kinda like the old Bendix washers. The new design has a very large diameter opening.

There is a "suds knockdown" spray rinse after the main wash and at least 2 deep rinses. A 4 min final spin means it has the new motor and timer control board.

we have those speed queen front loaders in our NIU dormatories. they are ALWAYS broken. the most common problem is that they would not drain, so you'd open up the door at the end of the cycle, and the clothes would be still sitting in a grey soup.
I am NOT a commercial speed queen fan. too many horrible encounters.
