Back in 1971ish, mom and dad wisely purchased the Maytag D806 washer and dryer. They've both been working very well, but lately she's had some issues with the washer. Where can I find the replacement belts, and how can I replace them?

Is there a service manual available?

Thanks!

Belt replacement is simple enough that no service manual is needed.

Remove the front panel (two screws toward the bottom) so the belt guard isn't in the way.  Tip the machine back for access beneath.  Slip the belts off the pulleys.  Roll the new belts on.  Replace the front panel.  Done .... unless belt tension adjustment is needed, which is a specific procedure.

12112425 is the part number.

Here's a source, there are many.  As stated above, don't substitute lawnmower belts or the like.  The transmission/spin drive belt functions as the spin clutch, has a special coating to insure it slips properly on the motor pulley while the basket gets up to speed.  Improper belt won't slip, causes excess load on the motor which leads to cutting-out on overheat.

Thanks

Thanks to you amazing folks, I'll have her machine going again in no time!

Does anyone know if there is a service manual out there?
