WOW! That is an amazing range. Note the manual pre-heat button over the oven thermostat that engaged the broil element at full wattage along with the bake element until the oven reached the desired temperature or to within 50 degrees in some brands. Those 7 heat surface unit switches are almost as flexible as infinite switches.

Monarch..

Made in Beaver Dam Wisconsin, these were sold all around the South, our local hotpoint dealer also sold Monarch as their high end range, they were VERY heavy and well built, the Deep Heat cooker as it was called was very different from the ordinary deep well as the elements wrapped around the sides!, like a crock pot.

Monarch electric, gas, electric/wood, gas/wood, and all wood stoves were huge sellers in WI too.  Just about everyone on both sides of my family had one type at one time or another

Love Love Love my Monarch! Mine is the smoothtop, (corning top like frigidaire used), but it is built sooo heavy, and cooks so very well. The oven has perfect even heating, and the preheat feature is great.

Kevin,

Even today after 25 years or so I still miss my Mom's old Monarch gas range.  That oven was huge, and it was great for baking bread.  It had a pilot light so there was always some heat in it, and the dough would rise so nice because of that tiny pilot light flame. The good ole days. sigh
