More questions regarding Maytag A308 repair

Well, congrats, Richard. I figured it was a belt or tub cover problem. Slight squeal when spin begins? Did you clean off the burned rubber from the pulleys and replace the burned belts? That will make a squealing sound. Also real Maytag belts in the blue bag are much better than those stupid FSP belts.

The belts that I have are what I ordered from Repair Clinic. "Maytag" is printed on the larger of the two belts.

I also went ahead installed new damper pads. There never were any installed back when. Anyway to tell when the machine was manufactured ? I have a matching dryer that still works great.

Just a follow up on the A308. The minor squeal just before spin dry has gone. The machine now runs almost too quiet. I think the belts just needed some time to get seated good and work the new out of them. However...like Johnny Bench would say.."No Runs...no drips and no errors.

i am not mechanical, so i didn't offer any suggestions cuz i don't know anything about what you are saying. but, i am so happy for you that you got your 308 working now.
