Volsboy

That certainly explains it. I had at least one thing happen to me here, the neighborhood is only 51 years old, but there was human inhabitation a lot earlier, and evidence of some settlements not far from this area. I wouldn't fool with Ouija boards either, check your area for people who deal with that type of phenomena. I think it's fascinating, but certainly not entertaining, like a lot of people think it would be.

Warm Shoe <br
Growing up with 5 siblings and being a clothes horse, my brothers would often take my clothes without asking. I remember one time in particular when I made my brother give me my shoes back. I put my feet in them and the shoe was warm and moist. To this day I have a thing about sharing shoes. I find it almost unbearable to cruise the clothing department in a thrift store and catch the collective smell of all those old, used shoes for sale. <b>It makes the barefoot in the spider scene look pretty inviting.
</b <br
your comment about the bare foot + spider made me laugh out lou <br
Warm shoes... ick! A warm seat on public trans/subway/bus... eeeew

Warm Toilet Seats

ANYWHERE - Public which I TRY to stay away from anyway or at home...It is the one thing that I don't mind being alittle cool when I sit...

Renaissance Fairs LOL yes they are creepy <br
I've only ever been to one and guess what it was in the U.P youpee near Ironwood MI about 7 years ago.. I was driving home to Calgary and took what I thought was a shortcut and passed thru some little berg holding a Renaissance fair,,the weather was drizzle and gloomy, setup in the towns park all these little booths etc and people dressed up.. all I could think of at the time was this is like something from the Twilight Zone.. I took a quick look round and left HA.

Mowing my yard on the riding mower. A couple of years ago, I ran over a yellowjacket nest, got swarmed and stung a few time. It happened twice that year, now I can barely do it. Now, I when I'm on it, I keep a sharp eye out and I'm so tense that I'm exhausted when I'm done <br
Also, snakes...I had one in my shed, on the deck of the previously mentioned riding mower. It was black, the mower is black, when I jumped in the seat it went across my foot. When I came back to myself, I was running, screaming, and cursing across my yard. It was so loud that the neighbor came out to see what was wrong. My wife was sitting on ground laughing.

Roaches

Rank right up there with snakes in my book. We had a Cockroach house next door when the 20 ro 25 illegals that were living there moved out (with the help of INS). There were so many roaches in that house that the floors literally moved.

Renaissance Wedding

I catered a wedding with a Renaissance group as the invitees. All the food was served on trenchers, round loaves of bread, and there was a jousting for the entertainment of the guests. There was a clear caste system and the more lowly were seated the furtherest from the wedding party. The party ate first, then the decond tier and the lowest weren't allowed to eat from the tables but waited until leftovers, bones and hunks of bread were tossed in their directions. Real fist fights ensued and they wrestled for the morsels of food. It was the sickest display of human behavior I have ever witnessed.

What Gets Me:

Is that "Renaissance" re-enactors are not really re-enacting the Renaissance, which was a period of growing enlightenment and progress. They are really re-enacting the Dark Ages, a time before the Renaissance, when medieval mores held sway <br
Mention of the Dark Ages always reminds me of the late Charles Pierce's impersonation of Katharine Hepburn in The Lion in Winter; speaking of the Dark Ages, he would say, using Hepburn's voice: "No one was gay - everyone was glum! Can you imagine going to your first glum bar? <br
Okay, it was funnier when Pierce did it...

Humans!

Creep me out. Their unpredictability, viciousness, scheming, nastiness, violence, malice, sadism, cowardice, etc.... never fail to creep me out; and they smell <br
I find that I constantly get creeped out by what other humans think and how they act <br
We know what snakes, spiders, sharks and maggots do. They are not motivated by grudges and hate, or want to satisfy some perverse obsession or sadistic inclination. Victorian furniture only looks creepy, but it doesn't mean anyone any harm <br
Even creepier is the direct relationship between intelligence and creepiness. The more intelligent and sophisticated humans are, the greater is their capacity for creepiness.

Humans = creepy <br
Don't get me wrong, I am not a misanthropist and actually enjoy other peoples' company very much <br

Waitresses who..

...never learned the menu and lean in over my shoulder to see what item I just ordered on my menu. Yuck! Get out of my space.

Creeeepy Space Invaders...

Sounds like a space invader. They are even worse when the don't shower and have bad breath. Makes me want to pull out a mega-a-phone and annouce,"STAY BACK I DON'T WANT TO SMELL YOU"

Spiders. I hate spiders .

I would have to say spiders. I loathe them. especially the furry ones I think they are called Wolf Spiders. I used to live in a very old apartment in a reconverted Victorian house. The caller walls were made out of stones stacked on top of each other and they leaked like a sieve in the rain, had cracks and all sorts of bugs could come and go as they pleased .The laundry was in that awful cellar. I absolutely hated going in that cellar. When I would do washing, I would get surprised often by a wolf spider or two. I remember this one time there was one in my downy ball as I was filling it with softener( the supplied early 80's Norge 20 lb capacity machine did not have a softener dispenser) .I thought I was going to have a heart attack. That apartment now is only an unpleasant memory thank God. Now I am so happy to be living in a place with a finished cellar and main floor Maytag washer dryer.

I'll fess up

Table saws really get to me. I can use them (in fact used one a few days ago) but I really, really dislike any job which requires me to use one in order to finish the work. I've often put off jobs for weeks because if them.

I remember visiting the Renaissance Faire when it was still taking place up near Sears Point raceway about 10 or more years ago. <br
I drove my '50 Plymouth sedan there. As I was getting out of the car, another carload of people in period costume was also disembarking. One of them asked me what year my car was. "It's a fifty", I said. Then, I had to add, "That is, NINETEEN fifty"... I got a big chuckle out of it, but they didn't seem at all amused. Go figure <br
The actual Faire was OK, although I can't say I was ready to get into the costuming etc. I do remember a ravishing young blonde woman who had set up a little podium/booth where she was creating really good calligraphy. She had to be one of the most stunningly beautiful women I've ever seen. Amazing

The more intelligent and sophisticated humans are, the great

Well then that means we have a LOT of VERY smart people here!

Poisonous snakes. I really don't mind non-poisonous snakes, but don't expect me to let one slither around in my arms <br
Besides snakes (Most of the following can be considered their species) <br
