Jason,

Honestly, neither you nor I have ever once posted anything on Imperial or Deluxe which was bad or wrong. We have both focused exclusively on vintage topics on those two forums
Here, in the Sandbox, I read about your new house with great interest and, every so often, was able to contribute a minor note on your questions
Here, in the Sandbox, you and I have also disagreed on many things. That doesn't make me right and you wrong. It absolutely, however, does not make me a troll <br
We will probably never agree on what Christianity is supposed to be about. I saw too many of my friends die of Aids in the 1980's and have lived for too long as an equal citizen in Europe to ever forgive or accept the American Christian perspective that it's good for homosexuals to die of Aids and God meant for us to be beat up, denied housing, jobs and even the right to visit our loved ones when they are dying in the hospital...never mind the right to be married and raise children <br
You lean Republican, I am very much a yellow-dog Democrat. Funny, both our political views were influenced by the Deep South - my mother marched in Alabama and Georgia for civil rights for Negroes <br
I am a Christian, tho' I understand that by your definition of Christianity, that is not possible <br
Where do we go from here? It is foolish after all these years to believe that my leaving would change anything here - we both were onboard long before the Austin incident, we both have seen the 'other' collectors' club (which I never once have participated in) go through enormous turmoil, again and again <br
Let Robert make his changes. We will then have three forums where we can share our common interests. There will be a fourth or fifth where those of us who do enjoy arguing and discussing politics and human status for gays and such can do so. Those who have driven so many from the club through the years will continue to attack me and others, those who don't want anything to do with such discussion like you are free to ignore those forums. Or to participate. As you like <br

Fear of Table Saws

These devices do demand a lot of respect. I know one woman who sawed off one of her fingers. It was successfully re-atttached, but not with full function. <br
In any case, there is a type of table saw that I saw a news story on about 10 years ago. It has a safety device built in. As soon as the electronics sense contact with flesh, a braking pin is fired into the side of the saw blade, bringing the saw to an instant stop. It ruins the blade, but of course that's preferable to losing a digit. <br
Sorry, don't have a product name, and it's possible it's not on the market any more. But it is a thought <br

Saws and drills

When I was a kid, I used to be afraid of power tools, not because they can hurt me, but because of the high pitched noise they make.

OK, I admit I am a bit creeped out by facial piercings - especially through the lip. Saw an employee at a hardware store today with a major ring through his lower lip... made me cringe a bit. I'm used to the tongue piercing thing, I guess, but the lip is more gross <br
And yeah, I understand people pierce themselves in a lot of other places, but those are not normally on display when one goes shopping

but those are not normally on display when one goes shopping

That just depends on where one is shopping and just what one is shopping for........... Uh Oh mothers eyes are rolling!

In less than three days....

The troll starts it up again... <br <br <br
Link... It is worth watching. Another member sent me this <br

OK

Let's all sit back and breathe! There was/is a full moon. Tensions are running high, and our spin cycles seem to have synchronized yet again during a massive shortage of Midol, lithium and prozac.

I see some avatars above have disappeared and I have a bad feeling as to what that may mean.

WHY IS IT SO F^&*ING HARD TO BE CIVIL AND COURTEOUS? Why the bitchy, catty, shallow, nasty, egotistical attacks? People back-down once in a while,m sya you are worng le tht eother guy "win". Will you ghrekin fall off?

IGNORE THE TROLLS PLEASE!

NO ONE has the RIGHT to say WHATEVER THEY FEEL LIKE SAYING.

(Shakes head in disappointment).

Perhaps we need to be handing out cigars on a good day and two (or three) tampons on a bad day!

Todd aka Rune-,

Yes, that's it, complete with the hot dog test digit.

Great idea, but for now I'm keeping my Rigid cast iron table contractor saw. It does a great job and so are (knock on wood) haven't had any problems with it. I always keep a push stick or two with the saw - I won't start without one, period. And I guess I'm not complacent enough yet to take chances with the thing. I figure a table saw is great for medium to large size work. For small pieces, it seems to be far more dangerous. For those things I have a compound miter saw and the good old hand saw.

A table saw with the blade height set as shown in the picture earlier would creep me out-the blade height should be set just high enough to cut thru the wood-carbide blade should have about the height of the carbide tooth insert over the stock for proper sawdust disposal.-no more.Excessive blade height can cause kickback, excessive wear on the blade and stock-and if a mishap occurs-the low protrusion will mean a minor injury instead of a major one.Non carbide blades should be set no more than quarter inch thru the stock.

What creeps me out are coworkers who have intertwined personal lives outside of work. I'm not talking about intimate relationships but social stuff, like shopping for wedding dresses together, having drinks together regularly, going on weekend outings together, having lunch with departed supervisors, knowing everything about each other's lives, etc. It always shocks me when I learn about such things. I think that is just bizarre.

On the same line, I think hugs from coworkers are pretty creepy too. I like hugs, but I prefer to get them from people I want to hug.
