Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Hotpoint, "30 years, a great run," indeed, Mike !

A Hotpoint Timeline !!!!! How cool, and now you have all your HP's in a row. Beautiful. Love that HI-vane short stroke ramp agitator. So envious and motivated, trying to collect Whirlpool Mark XII's. Great close-ups. Thank you!

Some quick responses for now

Car wash?

Cheeky bugger! Having just done a 360 mile round trip in drizzly weather on salted roads you would hardly expect it to be clean!

Louis, the dishwasher was manufactured by Zanussi (who also made Hoover refrigeration products) and was also marketed under the Rex name.

Ian, I was actually thinking of a Moffat Fiesta 24 to match the door, although thinking about it i do already have the Moffat built in ....

Mikeyd, thank you for the kind words, I never see a posting from you where I am not reminded of the stunning pictures you have posted of your wringer washers :)

Gansky1, will try and do some "money shots" tomorrow but for the moment here is a video of the very similar Autojet jet machine, also part of our collection :) I have not suggested to Mike (yet!!!!) that we take a buzzsaw to the door of one of them to install a window LOLOLOLOL

Hi Al and Mike.

Was difficult wiping the smile from my face when the new acquisitions were unveiled to me. Problem was I was at work and people started asking me what tickling me :-)

Really pleased that a 1504 now resides within the toploader timeline - just a couple more representatives required to essentially have all the styles that were produced. Love the 1504/1518 (the 1518 was simply an interlocked version of the 1504, with the peg on the lid) for their simple and smart styling and the fact that the neighbour opposite my childhood home had one. Cannot remember if it was interlocked or not but, upon it's withdrawal from service, it was put against the side wall of his garage to wait its fate, in full view from my bedroom window.

I too cannot get over how mechanically clean these machines are. Obviously used sparingly and well cared for.

and ....

.... to that uber smart looking Hoover 4809 (I think its a 4809, rather than a 4808)!
I am over the moon that one of these surfaced and will be great to see both models of this range alongside one another, the other being the 4805 Auto-jet.

Very classy black door - does anyone know if the audi-esqe rings have a meaning at all?

Apart from the advert image for the Super-Jet, there are only a couple of other image of the 4809 I have ever seen. The most recent find is courtesy of Ideal Home magazine and is attached below (the fridge and freezer are Philips).

Congrats on two superb new old acquisitions.

What a great set guys. Can't believe how good the condition of them both are. The inside of the 1504 looks amazing - it doesn't look like it has ever leaked from the seals judging by the condition of the support tube! I wonder if the earlier arrangement with the lower bar and bush coupled with the bearing race made for smoother operation and less strain on the seals. The bottom is in great condition too which is surprising given the state of the back panel! Did it have any of the service history written on it like Richards? Hope it was fully drained before it went in the car! Hardly any cobwebs in the bottom of the dishwasher too. Amazing

Well done and looks great with the new line up. Al, you'd better consider making the extension 3 storey at this rate lol.

S :)

Money shots

Sorry I have not had time to do any clean up on the machine yet

The Rinseaid tank (pic 3) lives behind the "Superjet" panel. The white part pulls out to let the rinse aid pour in. It is a "reverse rack" system with the plates on top, cups etc. on the bottom. There is a semi-circular additional rack but I could not work out how that fits.

Congratulations!

Very nice set! Love the Zanussi made Hoover.

In the 70's we also had this particular model branded ZANUSSI-KONČAR.

Hotpoint 1504 & Hoover Superjet

Hi Mark, thanks and now we can have a test wash next time over with all those fab Tide detergents you brought last time...

Darren, yes just when ya think theres non about out the woodwork they come ha ha...

Ian , "Bombsite - where" !! ha ha really glad you had a grand time. and very little use and well cared for like the rest of the house...I wondered where the circles where used, a nice touch me thinks !!

Louis, thanks , this is the first Hotpoint Timeline does look rather fetching I think and yes you can see the resemblances to the earlier Indesit / Zanussi`s.

Mikey, yes its good to finally get them together but dont hold ya breathe too long there will be another along soon to complete all the style series...

Hi Greg, Yes the pump still works smoothly even with the little drip, probably just a new cork seal required and a canvass strap. Did later GE filterflows have the same pump arrangement or did they go electric ?

Hoover Superjet semi-circular basket

I would suggest that this perhaps fits into the upper basket. Possibly to adapt the upper basket to take additional small items like coffee cups, egg cups or the like. This rationale is based on the following:

(a) small hooks, I suspect, hook over the upper basket edge.

(b) there seems to be a semi-circular gap. Possible to accommodate the cutlery basket in the centre of the upper basket.

Nice machines by the way, and well done!
