I have found $185.00 piques their interest enough and its under $200. But just leaving up the most wanted without prices will get those people who truly want to pass on a machine they don't want to KRUSH.

I hear ya Jon, but I'm confused, is the consensus to remove all the prices or to change them to $185?

But what happens to the machines where the owner is just curious to see if it is worth anything and worth their time and trouble to bother contacting me about a machine? While there are some, but the majority of people really don’t care whether something they think of a valueless gets junked or not. So we are saying that just let those machines go to the krusher for the sake of saving $100 on buying a vintage machine? I've dealt with many sellers myself and I can guarantee you that for example had I offered $185 to the seller for my Pink Lady Kenmore set, it would be crushed now. Again as I said if you guys want me to remove the "values" off the other machines (not the Apex) or change them to something else I will certainly do that. I have almost all the machines I've ever wanted, but I think you're making a mistake in the long run for the people who want to build a collection just to save a few dollars. You guys come up with a consensus for the values on that page and let me know, I will change it, ASAP.

IMO the "Golden Age" of finding these machines has now past. Because of the changes in local ordinances, which no longer allow huge lots full of old machines---even in rural areas and force the owners to send them to the krusher------and the fact that many, many of the old timers that have/had them are quickly dying off, leads me to believe that there is no more risk of these machines going to the krusher than not.

Its a matter of hunting them out.And sheer luck. I think the wanted list is a good idea, but the pricing needs to go away.
A blanket statement such as "Reasonable monetary compensation will always be taken into consideration". It leaves open the door without inspiring the "Pie-in -the-Sky" mentality I have dealt with in the past.

I think you all make good points. Lets not do anything yet to the list and think on this some more.

Anyone else out there have an opinion on how to go about raising Seller Conciousness?

Robert can you tell which page gets the most new hits? Do alot of new people show up at Applianceville or the Wanted List?
I would figure most of the new people would be a traffic of sellers not new members.

I think we should keep the Rewards page.
I think a redit is in order though. Something like remove all the pricing on each machine and just have a blanket statement up at the top where you have posted the Value based upon condition.
Something like what you already have posted under the Hotpoints: $75-$350.

I like that range because machines come in wide range of conditions AND this leaves the door wide open to haggling with the seller!

Place it where you have at the current disclaimer up at the top
"Rewards are based on several factors: condition of machine, easy access to machine for removal, and wether machine must be crated and shipped a distance. Rewards can run anywhere from Free where We take that junk out of your way; to money paid $75-$350 per machine.
Forward your item with pictures to our webmaster and he will notify the whole club to see if there is an interest in your machine.

This peeks the sellers interest and also would stop wild speculation.
Thats what we want to accomplish here.
