So here's a shot of the motor on our Savage washer. I'm putting a new cord on it to replace the one someone gaffed on it. The gaffed one also had a third (green) wire, but I can't imagine it was used. My question is, would there be any advantage to replacing what would have been the original two-wire cord with a three-wire, and grounding the motor? If so, where would be the best place to attach the third wire?
One more question- I'm assuming that the upper right, lower left and bottom holes in the motor originally had screws in them. Would you leave well-enough alone (the motor works great) or put replacement screws in there?
Thanks for any help!
