"MR Steamy"

As I write there's an infomercial for "Mr Steamy". A ball you fill with water and put in your dryer and supposedly the heat of your dryer will get the water hot enough to start steamiing and help release wrinkles, refresh your clothes and make it soooo much easier to iron!
Will a dryer get hot enough to create steam in a little ball? I don't think so! I know in my Miele it wouldn't.
Keep your eye out for this ad. I'm watching HGTV!

Saw the ad on another network... idiots will buy it!

Meanwhile, on the few occasions I need to "refresh" clothes I left in too long to where the dryer shut off and they wrinkled, I wet a dishtowel (or similar) and throw it in for about 5 minutes. The dryer heats it up and gives a bit of steam to the load.

GUUUUURLS please! It reeks of gimmick.

Eceryone knows that you simply wet and wring out a pillowcase, toss it in and set your dryer for 20 minutes to help "iron" clothes that are already dry.

In a true pinch the first few minutes of combustion in a gas dryer will generate a bit of moisture as well, so a damp cloth may not be as crucial as it is in electric dryers.

To test this, go to your gas oven and watch the moisture condense on the door after the thing first lights up, but before it has had a chance to heat up thoroughly.

Yes folks another POS gimmick that has only one purpose/function and is intended to have you part with your money.

Watched this add also and thought of all the olde dryers that had the built in sprinklers or had the dryer ball that bounced back then. We too have used the wet rag or pillow case. Have even used a spray bottle to mist things and run the dryer on touch up. Has anyone used the Downy wrinkle rid dpay. That works too.

I just use a damp wash cloth or hand towel run the dryer for about 15 or 20 minutes on medium heat. I saw the infomercial for Mr. Steamy a couple times.

Downy Wrinkle Release

The only thing I don't like about the Downy wrinkle remover is it makes the fabric feel sticky. But, it DOES work!
