MVWP575GW tub doesnt fill tub on FULL cycle

I purchased a MVWP575GW in August 2018. I noticed whether it is on a deep fill cycle or non deep fill cycle (a.k.a DEEPWATER/Normal) the water level in the tub is exactly the same – approximately 13" deep. Is this a common failure? It has done this since the machine was new. Is there any way to fix this without calling a repairmen (some sort of reset or adjustment)? I have had real bad luck with repairmen making more problems than are fixed recently so I am hesitant to call one. I can live with the way it is working as it cleans the clothes well, but I bought this machine specifically for the "full tub of water" ability. So I was wondering if others experienced this same issue and found a "fix" for it.
I had read somewhere that some new units had some connectors hooked up improperly. Eugene @ Lorraine Furniture suggested something about a "pressure tube" but I could find no sites with diagrams for this model. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated

I think 13" is the deep fill, have you looked at the tech sheet inside ? or called WP to see if this I normal ?

You’re showing the water level on an empty tub (no clothes in it).  Have you checked to see what the water level is if you’ve loaded a full tub of laundry, let it fill and begin the wash cycle?  It may very well only fill to the 13” level because the tub is empty and the machine senses this.

 

My Roper RTW4516FW fills to the VERY top if I select a deep fill cycle and the tub is loaded to the top.  I believe that this washer is similar to yours, albeit a much less expensive model, but they are both made by Whirlpool and both have the same dual action agitator, only mine has a porcelain tub.

 

Is the machine washing your laundry to your satisfaction?  Thats the true test of whether or not its functioning properly.

The water level pressure tube is in the wiring harness on the "Basket and Tub Parts" diagram ... #25.  It connects to the outer tub and to the control board in the console.

I have a guess, try to see the difference with have no presoak or 2nd rinse options. As in all options off.

Great idea Bob!  It makes sense that the first fill for a Presoak would be a lower level than the wash fill.

Main and Normal Cycles

I owned this washer now for two years. Main cycles fill to about 3/4 of tub for wash and rinse. This includes presoak--tub does NOT drain after prewash (ten minutes) and refill. Normal is half tub fill and spray rinse. If you set Normal to presoak, the tub fills to the like it would for main cycle (3/4 full) and I think it does two full tub rinses (3/4 full each).

This is interesting. I might want my main cycles as half tub fills and rinses since I do smaller loads now. Hmmm. Will be curious what is causing this issue for OP.

Eddie, good to know this about yourRoper model. I think this is a good, budget friendlier choice.

Saw additional pictures...

Hard to see on my phone, but that looks like a main deep water full tub fill (3/4 full) If you choose any other option with Normal like presoak or extra rinse, it fills to same level as main cycle AND Water temp should be as selected.

I will measure my water level later to see what it is for Normal and Deepwater.

Thank you do much guys. When ai turned off the PRESOAK option, then my water level on Normal cycle was about 8.5 ". That is so unintuitive and I cannot say I remember reading that in the manual. You saved me an unnecessary service call for a non-existant problem!

Normal cycle wash temp...

This is the only cycle that adds cold water even though it is set to Hot. Normal "Hot" is barely warm. I marked where normal fill is, start a wash cycle, add desired hot water manually, unpause. Will continue to fill to line or will start wash cycle. If needed, pause again with lid closed for presoak. Unpause to start wash.

Sorry. You have to start AND THEN PAUSE normal cycle to add your own hot water. Hope that makes sense.

I do not wash in cold. I only used that setting for my tests

@eronie. I do not ever wash in cold water. I only set that setting to cold water for my tests
