It has 3 dials and 4 buttons - 800 1200 spin, half load/dry button rinse hold and a on off button

Temp dial cold to 95, dryer dial from 0 to 120mins and a washer dial 18 programmes

It might be as the programme dial is so flimsy, the dial is misaligned so you have to
put it on one notch over the programme for it to fill, other than that it
Works fine apart from the softener going in on the bleaching rinse phase rather than the
Softener programme

I hear Hotpoint are launching a 10KG wash 7KG dry washer dryer in Ultima design too, with that round door, not sure if it is launched yet, but its got the Aqualtis Titanium drum too.

The new generation are built a lot better than the ones before this. I don't understand why, because Its still Indesit that own it!!
I would say the new Generation are much better than the older WM's if I am honest. The only reason my WM31, and other WM's are still going is because they are repaired regularly. I would certainly be happy for my WM31 to be replaced by one of the newer generation machines though, especially one with Titanium drum!
 
Decent Hotpoints

I have to say, the series before the current ones were also excellent. We used to have a WM series machine before it bit the dust and it was very reliable and got hammered through its life, and it then got replaced by a WML540 which was the last generation of hot points before now, and it is a class machine. Very well built and has been so far reliable after 3 years, but ours has the Hotpoint drum rather than the indesit one so that may say something.

On the other hand, the generation after the WMAs were in one word: Awful. They were the machines that set a bad impression on Hotpoint, and quite rightly so. They were nothing short of terrible machines. Whereas nowadays they are excellent machines and would replace our Hotpoint if it broke with another any day. Today's indesits I do not like at all though. Also the previous generation are fairly good, but not a patch on our machine.

So that is my two pence :-)
 
Personally....

If you can afford it I would buy something of my choice and just ask the landlord to take the old one.

When we moved into this flat I already had a decent oven and hob to replace the past it installed ones so I just asked if I could fit those!!!

Siltal

Siltal was formally IAR Siltal who were responsible for a lot of rebranded items, a few Baumatic models, Cda models, Homark / White Westinghouse, Neff 6544 etc. The company collapsed and was taken over by a holdings firm. But after much investment, it did not last. Siltal has been in administration for some time. Merloni and Antonio Merloni had no real association with Siltal, apart from a few Indesit driers that were produced by Siltal before they got hold of the Creda Yate factory.
 
Yep, with the single paddle lifter. Also the dryer with all controls on the door, a bit like an Aqualtis, but not as pretty....

I think is the Baumatic machine you mean. They had a bad rep for a terrible design for the sump hose. A nice retainer collar that could only be inserted from the inside of the outer tub.
I also remember the Beatrice built in dryer, it was ust a washer dryer, without the washer lol. Only the Italians!

Not seen any Siltal - Fagor dryers but have seen them on the parts / model lists. Think Fagor had a good range from Cre-point =)until they bought Brandt that is.

not really, appalling service network from Italy. Parts that never arrived, nobody their ever replied, until they wanted paying that is..... Parts are becoming scarce.

Baumatic have not produced a thing until they bought Italian manufacturer Kosmo, who produced some of their ceramic hobs and the side opening Megachef ovens before takeover. The good thing with Baumatic, is that they do have a very comprehensive range on built in products. But all badged from others.

Ah right
Ive never really been a fan of baumatic since i found out how bad thier customer support is, most of thier washers are made in china by haier now, its rather sad tbh

Yep, all Haier now on the built in, and initially with the MEGA6 models. They have used a lot of Fagor, Vestel, Antonio Merloni, and a few Gorenje (my fave) Everything is about price =/ and not quality =(
 
I know, i knew somone with a baumatic that was made by vestel, apparently, the pully would grind against the back cover, until her dad took the back plate off and hammerd it, then it was fine, i do love the line of coloured fridges they make :-)
Noticed you have the same whirlpool washer as me lol :-)

ah now totally off topic oops! It's in a sad way and was my friends acquisition when she moved. The lower weight was loose and cracked the base of the tank with a few small leaks, debored like a gooden! will use it for shoes lol. Too expensive to invest in a new tub, typical of Whirlpool.... When I want space may list some spares on Ebay lol.

Those Smeg fridges are excellent for tapping into consumer desire, and are basically Gorenje for the most part (although some from Antonio mer, Whirlpool more recently) and are provided to Smeg unfinished. Then they 'clad' them, and insert the doors into their moulds with smeg hinges. This is why some cabinets twist in time because the doors are heavy for the cabinets.

Well the Smegs have been toyed around with..... lol Smeg don't produce any refrigeration units, so consumers are always smacked up in price on the name.

Yeah the Whirlpool is a shame, would have reconditioned it. The little blue handle is also busted, but alas is not available without the lid which is a total rip off. Shame Philips sold out IMO
