The dancing washer is back at it again! He replaced all four rods about a year ago and he says it has already started to shake again. I asked where did he get the rods and he said Amazon.
Model WTW4800XQ4 for his machine. The bearing also seems noisy on this thing but he says it is shaking a lot again. So, he used aftermarket rods on his washer. The kit for this is W10780048 and he’s ordering more rods off Amazon which are the aftermarkets. I told him it’s best to go OEM.
My Whirlpool is 11 years old and never needed new rods (but mine is a washplate model and those don’t seem to have suspension rod problems too often).
I know the bearings are worn on this machine too since even when these rods were good, while it was balanced, it had a loud sound to it on spin cycle like the bearing was going out. Obvious that it’s a gearcase bearing but I told him to either run it until it dies or get a new one since changing out a transmission isn’t worth it.
