Yep, thats right, here´s my family´s old faithful miele washing machine. It works very good. Have only misbehaved one time when suds locking and when mom decided to wash a big rug mat in it. Not very clever. The machine jumped a little then. I love the clicks and cool noises from this machine. Amazing really. Will maybe do a video clip also.

The model is w 433 de luxe. Unfortenly my parents doesnt have the recipe anymore so its impossible to know exactly when they bought it. Dad says it was in summer 1975 while mom says it was early 1976. Both can be right since that machine was sold at that time.

Only one strange thing with the machine. When washing 95 celsius the RCD trips. Wonder why?. Have checked the element and it seemed fine.

Fredrik,

I think your mom is right. I don't think that machine was available in the summer of 1975. What is the spinspeed of the machine? Personally I thought it was a W423 or a W431, all the W433 models (there were several W433 models) I know had a detergent dispenser on top. But I might be wrong and missed one or more models with the detergent dispenser on the front. Perhaps they were especially made for Scandinavia and perhaps the UK. That is just a speculation though.

OMG this is a machine to save and set in a museum. It has the three knobs control. One for the programme, one for the temperature and one for the fabrics. I has a flap out detergentdispenser at the front it claps open like the door of an oven... max spin speed between 700 and 850 rpm. Beautiful machine... Love the old mieles. BTW untill 1980 the capacity was around 4.5 kg (+/- 9 pounds) after 1980 they totally rebuild the washers so they could wash 5kg (11pounds) with the same water and electricity consumption.

We have the W770, which is from the 1980's or so and just love the machine to bits. All the clicks, and various sounds the washer makes as it goes about it's business are such fun. Yes, it holds 11lbs of laundry (less for delicates, and woolens of course), but built to last! Contacted Miele the other day about spare parts (was worried they might discontinue carrying them), and was surprised when the man told us not to worry, and that there were lots of these units still out there. Apparently one simply cannot kill these work-horses. Simple mechanical timer means no computer/motherboard to worry about. Very simple but highly efficient washing machines. Love the fact that they use a decent amout of water for washing and rinsing as well. Want my laundry to slosh about, not float like a wet wipe.
