Heat Stream -------->

I think I have a model that pre-dates the Heat Stream that Alex posted above.  It can be wall mounted or sit upright on its own by lowering a stand that stores flat against the back.  Instead of open coils, the heat is generated by a toothy metal shroud around the fan, and air is drawn in from the sides.  It was purchased at the long defunct Home Express over 20 years ago.  I use it in the bathroom to keep the mirror from fogging.

I would buy another one like this if I could find one, but the type Alex posted would be a good alternative since I've always used my heater in a wall mount application, and I like the night light.

Amazing what the flash captures.  I didn't realize how badly it needs a cleaning.  It will get regular use for the next several months.

rp2813 - that's a smart, clean solution of heating...for small rooms, these portables are great..

I see you have a thermosat and regrettably, the Robeson doesn't.

LOL!  I don't know about "clean" in its current condition!  In addition to the thermostat, it has low and high heat settings.  The low setting cuts heating element wattage in half, from 1200 to 600.

Wow, I hope the pictures in this thread "are for display only."

Space heaters sitting on carpet? Even though they supposedly have anti-tip-over switches they are dangerous.

More people die in Iowa fires from space heaters than from candles or people passing out on the sofa with a lit cigarette. Or from leaving a frying pan on the stove.

Seriously, if you feel compelled to be a heater collector, put it on a piece of Durock and make sure your smoke detectors are less than 10 years old and have new batteries.

Speakers

I actually found a pair last year at the local Habitat Re-store.
Zenith "circle of sound" circa '66-'67 I think. Had them in a cart
and when I inquired as to the price, they refused to sell them to me.
Apparently one of the employees there wanted them so they were not for sale.
Was not happy.

hotpoint 95622

Vintage UK offering

HMV Cavendish fan heater around the late 1940’s
Very basic single speed fan with nice orange light inside for that warming glow.

Years ago

in the late 80's Lowe's sold a heater made by the Circulair Company.  I had two of them and each lasted about 2 years.   I wish I would have tried to repair them because of a unique feature they had.  You could set the fan to run constantly and adjust the thermostat to kick the heat on and off based on your comfort level.  I loved having this at night, the room at my perfect temperature and the sound of the fan running all night long.  I haven't been able to find anything like this since.  Wish I could find a picture to show what it looked like.

Joe, several Vornado models will do that. I have a VH2 model.

A cheaper, noisier heater called ComfortZone also has a thermostat and will keep the fan running as the element cycles on and off. Look for them at Dollar General.

I occasionally use an old Markel heater from the late 60's/early 70's when my feet get cold. It's built like a tank, puts out very even heat, and an adjustable thermostat that's really accurate. The fan is practically silent. It looks identical to this one on ebay, but doesn't have the OSHA grill near the Neo-Glow element.

Damn those thrift store employee pickers!!!
An Unemployed friend of mine scored a job at a local thrift store after they fired their truck driver. Apparently when the previous driver arrived to pick up the donations, he would swing by his own house and take the best items off the truck and hide them in his carport before he headed back to the store with the rest of the load. After he was busted they needed a truck to haul away the contents of the carport. Which was bursting at the seams. He attempted to cover the contents with blue tarps. So sad! The thrift store sales supported an attached community food bank.

General Electric's late sixties portable heater

Love this little heater. It draws 1650 watts. These were the good old days before electric household heaters (on 110-120 volts) were downgraded to 1500 watts max.

General Electric also had a smaller version, that used only one bank of resistance heater, instead of the two that you see on this heater.

Supersuds

Thank you so much.  I looked at the VH2 on the Vornado site and on Amazon.  This morning Woot sent me a deal via Amazon to purchase one for $40.00.  I jumped on it so fast the keyboard was smoking!  I think I got a heck of a deal and I can't wait for it to arrive.

Great price! Hope you like it!

I have an open plan, two story, cathedral ceiling apartment. The upstairs is much warmer than the downstairs even with a ceiling fan going. The Vornado does a great job equalizing temperatures and you can hardly hear it running from across a room.

In the summer you can simply turn the heating element off and use it as a low velocity air circulator.

The Vornado VH2 arrived yesterday and I certainly do love it!  Most even heat distribution I have enjoyed in a room heater in many years with out overheating and hot spots.  Definetly recommend it to anyone looking.

Can you help identify?

I have a heater that I have been trying to identify. Looking through Google images it appears to be old? Came across this forum so I thought I would see if it looked familiar to anyone.
