my magic chef washer

my 1989 magic chef washer that i brought home is rearing its ugly head, it was in the middle of a wash cycle and just quit I took a knife and stuck it in the hole and was able to get it going again. I bypassed the lid switch on my Maytag does anyone here know how i can bypass the lid switch. Thx Mike

The easiest way I can think of would be to pop the top cover and jumper the wires from the switch together. I've done that for the 63 GE Filter-Flo and the 66 heaven-only-knows-if-I'll-ever-get-the-SOB-working Inglis...
