Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

New Zanussi

Sounds like the built in ones have the same programming as the latest freestanding Essentials - our Essential also cuts the cotton cycle from 2 hours to 1 hour with Super Quick selected. And does 5 rinses with Extra Rinse selected.

Be wary with extra rinse though - on ours, the rinse level without extra rinse is determined by the load - low absorbant stuff like bedding rinses at low level (water just reaches the drum rim) and towels rinse at a higher level (water reaches the door glass). However, if you press extra rinse, ALL rinses are at the lower level, regardless of the load type.

Therefore, if youre washing something like towels, it seems more effective to leave Extra Rinse off. I only use it on some low absorbancy loads now.

i was using it on all the washes it did this weekend, on all but the last rinse it does low level rinses...on the last rinse it does a high level rinse... it did 9 washes on saturday cause of all the washing build up while the E-lux was broken...it a great machine no complaints so far...

Seems a tiny bit difference to ours.

On ours the final rinse is always marginally deeper because it fills, stops, tumbles once & then fills & tumbles at the same time to take the conditioner in once the water is already soaking the clothes. Whereas the rest of the time it fills with a static drum.

However, the final rinse is never significantly deeper. Youd struggle to notice without looking very carefully. It just alters to follow the depth of the other rinses, dependant on load (as per my details above).

Reviving a Dead Thread.... Zanussi Is Knackard

Well the Zanussi is almost ready to give up, 4 Years later and the Bearings are shot. the noise of it on saturday was unbelievable, i was shocked to turn the drum and hear the horrid rumble couldnt believe a machine this young would be having bearing failure especially seen as its only used about 3 times a week.

shows how the Zanussi Quality has really gone down the drain.

Looking around at new machines to replace it, has anyone got any suggestions, something costing no more than 500.

Ive been looking at the following machines as a replacment, not sure which to go for.

Indesit - IWME147

Hotpoint - BHWM129/2

Candy - CWB814DN

Whirlpool - AWOC7714

Can anyone help me choose between the above models?

Hi, I have a Whielpool AWO/C 7714 and its a brilliant machine! Search my username in YouTube and some videos should come up. :)

If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer. :)

Oh btw, that Whirlpool in the picture is not the 7714. It's the 0714 which is very similar but the 7714 is slightly updated with a few more programmes and the Colours 15 option,

I was in store today looking at some machines and ive narrowed it down to these two.

Indesit - IWME147 (pictured is the IWME146...147 just has 7KG drum and woolmark platinum care wash)

Whirlpool - AWO/C 0714

Both machines feel well built and ive hear some horror storys about some whirlpool machines lately so not to sure... The Indesit machines seem to be ok..havmt hear anyone complaine about them so im not too sure which one to go for.

You always get bad reviews with all machines. Look on AO.com. The Whirlpool is £299 with 22 reviews. Lowest score is 4 out of 5. Shows people like theirs! How long it will last I don't know, but it is a fraction of the cost of a Miele!

The 6th Sense is brilliant, I love how it senses before the wash starts. It's got plenty of programmes and options and I think it's quite quiet too. Read my review on AO, it's at the top. Coming from a fellow washer fan with knowledge about machines I hope that helps!
