My New Beko ECO WMB81445LW

I recently updated my washing machine and dishwasher, bought a Beko ECO WMB81445LW on offer for £239 on AO.com. My experience of Bekos generally haven't been positive, as I had a WM5120W from August 2010 - June 2014 which was crap, very noisy and didn't rinse very well. But this model seems very built, uses plenty of water and has a DC inductor motor which makes it very quiet, only 51 decibels while washing.

The daily quick programme is exceptional, I hate waiting ages for my laundry to finish, I want to get it washed and done in a short time, it does an 8kg 30 degree wash in 28 minutes, the 40 degree wash takes 38 mins, 50 takes 48 mins, 60 in 58 minutes etc etc. I've had excellent results with this programme, and its my daily driver at 40 and 60 degrees.

It does distribution tumbles while rinsing, and it fills half way up the door, making the rinsing very effective and also has a liquid detergent insert to put in the drawer, if you wish to use liquid (I use surf) for colours and dark laundry as I do (Powder on whites, towels and sheets)

Beautiful looking machine. BEKO are actually really good machines. I just chose not to get one as I was living in a flat share and there was one there and I had a bad experience so I didn't want Beko in my new property but they are well build and quiet.

Distribution rinses are great too.

I had the same Beko as you but the 1200 version, it was really rubbish and I hated the foamy suds locks during the interim spins, all my clothes came out really soapy and unrinsed, but this machine rinses them perfectly.

I really did my research before I purchased this machine as I wanted a machine that had a big drum, had reasonable programme times, was very quiet (live in a top floor flat) and had a digital display. so many people had rated this machine highly, and I saw videos of how silent it was on the spin so I bought it, it was £279 but i got it for £239.

I like how I can get a big load of washing done in 38 minutes, and its all well washed rinsed and spun nicely, I haven't used the 1400rpm spin yet as I tend to only use 1000 for clothes and 1200 for towels.

I've got a Beko WMB81241LW and its a smashing machine, my sister replaced her ageing Zanussi with a 7kg excellence model when it died and she rate it highly, and she said the fact its quick at washing means she can quickly catch up with a family wash in no time at all.

Hi Zanussi_Lover,

I don't have that Beko anymore. I was living in a flat share and it was there. I now bought myself a 9 kg Hotpoint Smart model which is super silent on washes and I love it.

With regards to the Beko WMB5100 we had. It was ok as in terms of reliability for a shared house but I felt it never took enough water for the rinses. Everything else it was ok but the rinses were very poor and it didn't top up plus stains used to stay on the dishcloths in that machine too.

I love my beko. 3 years on and still going strong. It's really had a lot of use in them 3 years as well. I got the beko dishwasher to match to replace my hotpoint one and it's the biggest regret ever. Really bad at cleaning and I've tried every tablet and powder there is and nothing works. Given your dislike of strong scented detergents Kyle im surprised your using Surf as I find that one of the strongest.

How long is the actual wash portion on a 40 deg quick wash? Im not so sure I would like to be using that all the time - even a slightly longer 1 hr and 15 kind of cycle wouldn't make much difference in getting the job done but could yield much better results especially as you use liquid.
I would also like to see what temp the actual wash water is on this 38 minute @ 40* as I suspect its not close to 40 given the times involved and the weight of laundry.

I cant see why you wouldn't use the full 1400 given its only 200 revs more than 1200 yet it doesn't half pull out more water.

My partner had the Excellent 1400 (same as Rob's above). It was a great machine - not too loud and even on the cottons cycle, was still reasonable with wash times. I too used to use the Daily Quick cycle for day to day laundry, although ours only did 2 rinses on this cycle so I always used it with extra rinse. Even then, it still clocked in at a reasonable 48 minutes on 40 degrees. I did stick with the main cottons cycle for bedding and towels though. Again, it did 3 really deep rinses on the normal cottons (never used cottons eco).

I use the daily wash a lot as you can go right up to 90 degrees on that and it doesn't take forever. As for the quick wash 40degree it washes for about 19 minutes and does a good job. Without testing the water temp on that wash the door does get quite warm so I would say it was right on the money but probably stops heating as soon as it hits 40 and doesn't keep the heat constant with it being a short wash. I love the deep rinses on the quick programme. I use the synthetics programme if I want a slightly longer wash as it will go up to 60 degrees. Never been a fan of beko until I bought the washer and even if it broke tomorrow I would buy the exact same machine again as I can't fault it in anyway

Yes, that's what these very quick cycles typically do. Sometimes one can actually hear the heater clicking off and the drain pump starting. With big loads, this could mean that only the outer layer of the load is exposed to the warm water.

I've got the same basic machine...

....here in Oz.

 

Love it with one minor exception - it's a fussy balancer.

 

That said, the cycles are very good. Cottons 40, 50  and 60 take 1:24, 1:35 and 1:44 respectively. The daily wash is fast and, effective....especially the 50c programme which ensures the entire load is at least 40c through, not just the outer items.

 

Would recommend one to anybody.

That's one quick washer. Sounds great man. With regards to being fussy at balancing I suppose that's a good thing so it doesn't go crash banging and damaging itself. My Hotpoint 9kg is a little fussier with spinning than the smaller capacity model Hotpoint/Indesits.

Since you got your machine have you noticed if the machine adapts the wash time according to the amount of washing?

The Beko WMB5100 I used to use added another rinse when it suds locked. It really did easily sudslock though due to the lack of water but it's v reliable. Your machine looks great and it's v popular.

I am not really sure if it does adapt to the load to the time as I've not noticed to be honest, but I do love the daily quick wash as a daily driver, the daily quick 60 is so handy, as I can wash my double bed set and a few towels and flannels, a scoop of daz or surf powder and 58 minutes later its perfectly clean rinsed and ready to go on the line.

So good when you have lots to be getting on with, and you want your laundry done and out the way without waiting around.

I love the big drum so much, its huge, can get more in the machine and it has a super silent brushless motor, I can't hear anything when its washing apart from the splashing of the water, and its really quiet on the spin, as well as the distribution rinses which are very effective.

I also bought a beko dishwasher too for £199, its the model with the controls on the inside, and the start pause button on the left, and that too is excellent, and does a good job, and is very flexible with the racks, compared to the crappy Tricity Bendix dishwasher we had before.

Overall I am very happy with my machines, and they do a great job
