I'm going to try to ask the bulder if he can put in Kenmore stainless appliances in the kitchen. Smoothtop electric stove and micro, and of course a DW. If I find a vintage Kitchen Aid DW and an early Amana RR, I'll have them refurbished and installed.

The Maytag DW and stove in my parents house are just as good, but it would be fabulous to have ALL Kenmore since that's my fav brand.

We have concrete

The mixer truck pulled up this morning and started pouring. The washer gods are smiling on me because the first room to get poured was the laundry room. Future home of the Oasis and Helen's '83 Whirlpool (and hopefully something from Texas)

Jason, Kenmore DW alert. They're just introducing the new models. They have been "dumbed-down" temperature wise. Normal soil on normal is 115 for main wash, 119 for main wash on auto-sensor cycle, and for pots & pans. Heavy soil would be 140 degrees. I cannot imagine washing dishes at only 115. To bypass this issue, you'll have to pick the high-temp wash option for 145 degrees.

I do have a suggestion, go for the Bosch made Kenmore dishwasher.

Oh I'm hoping! Yes, there will be a place for it so it's time to keep my eyes peeled. Helen's WP will make an excellent donor machine if the Kenmore 800 isn't so healthy.

Yeah, Chuck's team builds fast. He said I'll be moving in sometime in June or July. I'm sure the concrete is poured by now so it's time to wait.

washer hookup

I was looking at the pipes for the laundry room and it's only one :-(, the other pipe is for the fill hoses, BUT, my mom asked the guy and he said they're going to split the connection and add the second hookup. He didn't want to split it in the foundation because of code.

Also, there's metal straps sticking out in the concrete, that's a new code coming out for hurricane protection. Those will tie into the studs of house to give it more strength.

As soon as the builders are finished with a house down the street, they're going to come sometime this week and start building mine. YAY!

A new accordion, an old stereo, 2 washer hookups and a sweetheart. What could be better? A jukebox?
