After purchasing Tide Professional 8 times and using it for about 9 months now I can say that I love it. Nothing alone removes stains better than Tide Professional. A little goes a very long way so you get your money's worth. Suds are reasonable, just right and rinsing is excellent. Odors are removed and clothes come out with a mild chemical scent that is fresh and not acrid, unpleasant or over powering. Grease is removed completely, waste soil is none existent, stains disappear. Also no scum, suds or minerals are left in the machine. The stainless steel tub gets shiny at the end of the cycle. This detergent is truly what all detergents should be. It is simply perfect. And the best part? It works best in warm water. I find myself using hot water washing less. So you truly save money with Tide Professional.

I'm still working my way thru the box I bought, slowly. I find the smell over powering so I won't use it for bedding. For clothes I do use it but requires 2 extra rinses to tone down the smell. It does clean though.

How much of this stuff to start would you use in a classic..

Depends on several factors, mainly on your water hardness. The harder you water is, the more product is needed. Also, Tide recommends a minimum water temperature of 90F for this to work properly so keep that in mind. Maybe use it for warm and hot loads only unless you have an adjustable tempering valve. I have both a water softener and a tempering valve, so not much of any detergent is needed for great results.

I'm not sure of the water hardness here but I believe the water to be on the softer side. My washes are warm or hot. I usually use just enough until the water feels slick. Since I'm using mostly Tide products anyway, I want to give this a try.

Place me in the pro Tide Professional camp, as well. Cleans like a champ; like the scent. I order mine from Staples office supply online.

A Tide Aside: Was surprised to learn the local Latino grocery store stocks the front loading and top loading versions of liquid TideMatic (India). I love the scent, although it bears no resemblance to the powdered version of TideMatic.

I just wish, in all their tinkering, the wizards at P&G would make Tide products lower sudsing, especially for those of us who have front loaders (2023 Speed Queen in my case) and wash in softened water.

Interesting, I am also seeing Tide Matic liquid at our local Latino market - there seem to be two versions. One for top loaders and one for front loaders. Haven't tried them yet as I don't much use liquids and while I don't remember the price, they seem to be rather pricey for the size and quantity. Also, just don't need to keep stockpiling...
