As much as I love my Speed Queen TL set for most loads, it has to be said that the washer sucks at dealing with very large items like mattress protectors and duvets. Even thinner comforters and sheets can be a problem. So, I've been in the market for a relatively modern front loader
I wanted the 6500 with the heater. I eventually managed to find a set in great condition. Off down to U-Haul to rent a trailer, which I still haven't figured out how to back-up without looking like an intoxicated student driver. I also found someone else selling the Maytag riser for this set, which I bought and repainted, after getting the friendly folk at Home Depot to do a colour match for me. I then managed to scrape some paint off while getting the dryer up onto it. Oops. Out with the paintbrush again!
