On the other hand, the Hydrowave has not been getting stellar reviews and the tranny-driven short-stroke GE's have apparantly been improving in reliability. Unless you really want the Hydrowave (and I'm a sucker for getting something unique; witness my purchase of the much-hated Frigidaire TL'er), I'd consider staying with your current machine. My sister has had a near BOL GE for several years and it's given her no trouble.

I will go talke to Best Buy next week in regaurds to the Faux GE Hydrowaves.. If nuttin else i might try to swing for a nice discount on a cabrio or somthin..

Go get a true GE HydroWave at Sam's Club - they are actually cheaper in price at Sam's Club.

Question....do the authentic Hydrowave machines fill entirely, or do they only fill to the third row of holes down, like many other machines do, because of the water mandates?

If so, would it be wiser to keep the non-Hydrowave machine, just to have an appropriate full fill of water instead of the new tech?

see the link I posted to the thread I made about my new HydroWave Machine. There is a picture of the machine drum. My HydroWave fill to about 1/4" above the very top holes in the side of the drum.

Best Buy is pretty good about exchanging stuff if your not happy. We bought a Bisquit colored Samsung fridge and thought that we would redo the kitchen that color. We had it delivered and a few days later Scott said to me...you know I dont like the color. So I said lets go see if they will exchange it for another and they did. They delivered a faux stainless steel Samsung fridge and then that morphed into $25,000 later a new kitchen.
So as long as you have the reciept it shouldnt be a problem. The only thing is that you will have to cough up the delivery charge again. Plus it has to be within 30 days if I can recall. Give it a try and let us know how you make out.

I talked it over with em.. I am happy enough with my washer to keep it, but they did give me back the delivery fee and a $25 gift card.. So its fine with me
