Found this today while out thrifting... completely NIB. Only $9.99. Not entirely sure of the vintage.. thinking late 70s, maybe?

Haven't been able to bring myself to pop the staples yet. LOL

And I would probably never actually use it...
But, it's NIB, so I had to buy it.

Y'all know how it goes.

:-)

That is really neat Fred, I have never seen one of those before. Just think of the "fab" dinner parties you can have now with piping hot food no less!!

Oh. My. God.

That is a terrific item and find. It's a home version of the "hot lamps" that are used in restaurants while food is waiting to be served. I remember them being sold in the early '80s, when I first was in the housewares biz.

It really works. I'm jealous as hell.

Great MIB Find

Oh god Fred that's wonderful, I also have a weakness for anything MIB, looks like fun, when you do finally pop the staples you will have to photograph it for us.

Dan:

I sort of misspoke. "Heat lamp" is sort of a generic, catch-all term used in restaurants for this sort of thing- I didn't mean to imply that it necessarily employed an infrared lamp or something similar. Actually, the technical term for this is a "salamander". but I cannot remember the last time I heard that word used. There are salamanders that warm and ones that put out enough heat to brown the top of food.

i was thinking the same thing Pete was. that looks dangerous! imagine a bread basket going up in flames, or burned cabinets... or a ruined countertop! lol

still a cool item!
