Thursday turned out to be a good day. I've been avoiding thrift stores like the plague and pretty much keeping to the Habitat Restore however that day I ventured downtown to see how the construction of the new art gallery was going and while passing by the Sally store I got the twingle and so I parked and headed on in. Lo and behold sitting on the floor under a counter was this box.

Wowee another Braun KM32, this one with the blender and the meat grinder attachments and best of all the recipe book and warranty cards etc which I didn't have. This ones in impeccable condition.. no wear or semi rubbed off control markings etc.

Terry it's odd that for years and years and years I'd never find one of these then over the last couple of years it's like they've been coming out of the woodwork.. I dunno if I'd class them as the greatest mixer lol but I just love the look of them,

Comps

The Braun is compact, easy to store and move and its very powerful.  Its PTO system is among the best I've seen and apparently able to take the the abuse of running multiple attachments without stripping drive couplers.  The bowl capacity is larger than KA, the dough hook is among the best in the world for kneading the bread well without placing undue strain on the mixer.  The beater spins while the bowl is gear driven rotating the food against the beater.  It is slower than Kitchenaid in creaming and aerating but has the advantage of having a heavier three wire whisk for mixing batters after creaming withut fear of bending the wires.  There is a fragile balloon whisk which works very well in the small stationary bowl for egg whites and cream.  The blender is very good, the vessel large and the lower stature of the mixer makes adding and watching the blender contents easier.  I have used the shredder, juice extractor and grinder and found them efficient. The major unwow factor is the noise of the machine operating on high speed.  Since there is no governor your choices are pulse, low and high.  The power of motor seems to mix almost everything on low without stalling.  All in all I'd rather have this mixer than a Kitchenaid if I had to make a choice.

Wow....

Kelly, in my mind, that does make this beauty a rather 'good thing', if you're prepared to make a statement like that.

congrats

hey, this one looks terrific, a nice find.
As it seems you want to get the combo complete. Now your basic package is complete, but as an extra accessory you could also purchase:
- citrus press (to be inserted in the geared base of the food shredder - juice bowl and strainer gray transparent plastic, white reamer cone).
- coffee / spice grinder attachment (looks almost like the metal blender base but with different blades and a little glass dome, shaped Braun logo on the top of the glass jar).
- several attachments for the mincer /meat grinder: cookie attachment, sausage filler tube and all those other meat grinder thingies one can have.)
- there was no such thing as a centrifugal juicer, Braun wanted to promote their MP32 and the newer MP50 standalone units.

To keep it nicely humming away (I mean roaring away, it IS loud):
I used to work for Braun as a service technician for several years and might be able to help you out, just in case.
(Must have been some 200 or 300 "cases" that I had my hands on).

cheers, Joe

Thanks Joe.. actually I have all those attachments that came with one of the other KM32's I found... I was poking around last night thinking I had 3 of them. I had 4 already now it's 5, although one is more destined to be a parts machine. I haven't taken one of these apart yet.. so that might be interesting.. sounds like this one hopefully only needs a little grease and not a bearing or anything.
