My sister and her husband bought a house about 15 years or so ago not too far from mine. It was an old house built in the forties, and they bought it from an estate sale. It came with a nice vintage washer & dryer set. If I remember correctly, they were a Kenmore set very similar to the one in LightedControls picture #3. Her's were green though, but the thing I remember specifically about them was that they had the woodgrain control panel cover. When the cover was lifted, a fluorescent lamp would come on illuminating the control panel. The washer had a host of buttons for preset washing cycles, and a regular timer dial.

She used this washer & dryer set the 10 years they were in the house, and when they moved out about 5 years ago, gave the washer & dryer set to the new owners. Anybody know about what vintage that set was? Maybe I ought to go over to the house and ask the new owners if they still have those machines, and if they are interested in getting new ones ...and giving me those!?!?!

Those are Lady Kenmores -- 1969-75

The 1969-71 Lady Kenmore Washers had colored markings on the push-buttons and the 1969-73 models were three speed models.

The 1969-73 Lady Kenmore Washers also had "Vari-Flex" agitators, whereas the 1974-75 models had "Penta-Swirl" agitators.

The 1974-75 Lady Kenmore Washers were two speed models.

The 1972-75 Lady Kenmore Washers had the "Triple Dispenser" on the right side of the top of the machine cabinet.

In my humble opinion, a 1969-73 Lady Kenmore set is a set worth having if you are into vintage washers.
