You are living!

Like I want to!! Wonderful, I long for the day i can have a old car for everyday use, I drove a 62 Plymouth to the VCCC convention in 96, about 1500 miles round trip and used about 1/2 quart of oil!not bad for a old car!

Ken:

When I'm asked about cracked ice laminate, I usually refer to BarsandBooths.com. They have a yellow, but of course, I cannot say whether their yellow would be to your liking. I think a visit to the page and a call or email to see if a sample is available might be a good way to start.

I can tell you that my Aunt Priscilla had a vintage yellow cracked ice table and the matching chairs, and they were very bright lemon yellow. It was not a particularly subtle yellow at all.

BEAUTIFUL!!!

Joe! You kitchen and laundry room are beautiful!!! We DO need to find you a vintage dishwasher to make it really authentic though. Love it!!! Lightedcontrols

Excellent job.

Very impressive. Love the way you blended in a dishwasher. Can not even tell what make it is. Looks great !!!

Time stood still?

Joe, your car is drop-dead cool and beautiful. Great looking interior, such a classy looking car. Your house looks like it could do a movie set in the 40's w/o much add-ins. Thanks for sharing and again, wow.

Details!

Joe, thanks for sharing the pics! Love your vintage appliances and accessories - right down to the vintage milk and cream bottles in the fridge!

I remember seeing your laundry room already - perhaps you e-mailed me a pic before? Forgive me - I think my memory is waning!

From a fellow Frigidaire "Thrifty Thirty" owner

Your pics made my week! I especially LOVE your "Thrifty Thirty" electric range. I have one ,too. It is a 1953 model. Her name is "Fanny". Yours looks earlier. Do you know what year? I love everything about your kitchen and laundry room.I've got an old Speed Queen wringer but my family will not let me use it. I also have lots of those vintage appliances. I'm going to try to post a pic of Fanny so we can compare our ranges. It was really hard to find a early 50's range in the 30" size. Funny that was so rare then is the standard now and visa versa. I have vintage Kirby's, Sunbeam and Dormeyer mixers, toasters, blenders, irons, percolatsrs, and use the every day, too. But my fridge is a GE 1957 and my dishwasher is a kitchen aid 1971, so newer but still almost 45 years old. Thanks for the beautiful world you shared.

Thanks

Not sure the year of the Range? Some say late 1940's. This is a 30 inch range too. I appreciate all the great comments. The kitchen now has a 1949 K-10 Kitchen dishwasher. The whole house is done in a mid to late 1940's theme. It is very comfortable and we enjoy it very much. It nice to come home from work and step back in time everyday. It is very relaxing and a real stress reliever.

Hopefully I will be able to showcase the entire home with all the vintage items. We have made sure to have all real vintage items in our house, there are no reproduction items throughout.

Here is a link with the KD-10 installed.

Thanks Again!!!

Joe

Speaking Of The KD-10, Joe....

....I hope it's coming along nicely. You've been through a lot with it and I hope you're soon repaid for all your efforts with that lovely "hurricane in a box" noise.

I just stumbled across this post, and I am fascinated by that range.  It has fat radiantubes and it's a 30″, so it can't be from the 1940s.  It looks like it has two large burners and not just one, but I thought that didn't happen until 1956--and this unit can't possibly be from that late.  Then again, I've never seen anything like that design.  Did someone put this together from parts lying around the garage?
